Same here about the tax thing…It gets messy due to retirement accounts, investments, and the business. I’m to the point I just give everything to the accountant to do.

@Alex Had to look it up, but it was called The Sunshine Protection Act. It got approved half way and is currently stalled/in limbo. If passed it will make DST permanent.

I'd love it if the UK could stay on Summer Time. The early-evening darkness during winter is depressing.

Ha - just got to the part of my bank statements where I went to the 20th Anny Party. I was like "daaaaaaamn that was an expensive couple of days, what did I do?!"... and then I saw the date.

Right. Think the Act has something in it about a percentage of states needing to adopt it before it becomes a federal law. The govt wants to keep DST but scientists say ST is better for people’s biorhythms.

There was going to be a 2 year trial,but parents were afraid of traffic accidents/deaths related to their kids walking to school in the dark. So it’s been postponed.

Unquestionably a good idea when we were an agrarian nation burning whale blubber to see at night, but DST is obviously obsolete and carries a public health burden. It needs to go.

Sounds good in theory @Palmer but if you’re like me you operate in 3-4 different time zones so it’s probably even more confusing.

IMO you're fine people, most many of you (got family in the states and have been over there many times in the last 35 yrs or so)

Sorry for making this fuzz, my beloved american friends. Before we leave this topic, let me say that during my trips through the US (I've been to 22 states, solely CONUS unfortunately) I've made some of the nicest and only few not-so-nice encouters with other people. Certainly left out some rough spots.
