What does moleskine feel like?  Pretty weather proof?

I have the one from last year. It's an absolute favorite of mine. I wish I could scoop this one up, too.

Feels and looks a lot like velvet. I assume it can handle rain, but I'm not sure. I live in Los Angeles and don't have occasion to test the rain wear.

There were lots that failed QC, so we are waiting for those to be fixed before shipping them all together…
