Eat ice cream, drink beer, put them in a hot wash and then the drier. Just kidding I wouldn’t know where to start.

I would really like to have one pair of tight fitting XHS 25oz denim jeans. And this XHS-ib looks like it's a winner in the 555, which is definitely slim in the leg, but I don't want a baggy waist, so that why I am thinking about going small

I've tried this before and it only shrinks them marginally and temporarily. They stretch back to the same size after a few hours to days.

What should I do? Any help would be much appreciated, thanks in advance.

I can't give you any advice on sizing or cut… I suggest you make a chart (Excel spread sheet or equal) and measure each pair precisely and accurately, the same way IH does, and record them. Then review all the measurements and create a "dream pair" with the measurements you'd most prefer. Compare that to the actual measurements of the 555XHSib provided by IHUK.

In my experience with one pair of XHS, it does shrink some with washing, but not as much as an unsanforized denim. Maybe 1" +/- in the waist, .5" in the thigh and 1"-1.5" in inseam. The waist will stretch back to at least original size and the hips and thigh will stretch a little bit.

If anything, maybe err on the side of bigger, as it's easier to wear a pair that are a little big than a pair that are a little small.  :-\

Great minds think alike. That is exactly what I did. I put down the 3 smallest sizes of XHS-ib and compared them to my IH 555-03, for the model and 777-XHS as it is closest in actual size. So I am leaning now for the slightly bigger size of 29"

Thanks guys for the advice, I really appreciate the support. This is going to be amazing pair of jeans.

Does anyone know what size "Sam" wears? He and I pretty much always wear the same size.. I'm curious if he would go with a 31 or 32 in these..

              thanks

@Sam  is not in the country to try these on right now. Glancing at the measurements and as you mentioned I suspect he'd be a 31/32 depending on how much he has been to the gym lately  ;D.

Best way to size on these is to aim as close to your actual waist measurement as possible in my opinion.

The devil is in the detail..

Sizing for the waist, I'd take size 29/30… Sizing for elsewhere, I'd take 32/33; I suspect the latter would work, the former not so much. 😶

@supremegonzo This is personal opinion, based on my experience, but I've come to the conclusion after five years of trying different fits and ways of sizing that you need to fit the waist first and foremost.

If the waist doesn't fit the jeans don't fit. If the waist fits but the other measurements don't work (thigh being the main problem for me) then the cut isn't right for you. After that it is all a matter of taste. My point being if you have to fit these by the thigh, not the waist I'd wait for the 888 version

Caveat: a correct fit on the waist for me, includes everything from being able to wear without a belt, up to a sensibly belted waist. If you can fit two fingers comfortably inside your waistband, it's too big.

Copped! Happy hunting everyone! Back in the 25oz game! Biggest regret was getting rid of my Pronto Indigo tapered jeans, these should fill that void very very nicely!

Did I need a new pair of jeans? No. My 18 oz 555s are on track to last for all of eternity at their current rate… 15 months in and still at zero repairs. Still got these though. Only 2 pairs in a 30, so I couldn't wait once they were live.  😃 I think this will be the pair that finally pushes me to cycle jeans, rather than just wearing one pair all but one day a month for 2 years.  😃

+1 to all of this. I completely agree. I've had much trial and error over the past few years. If the waist doesn't fit, then the jeans don't fit. If the jeans have to be sized up to accommodate the thighs, then it's probably not the right cut. Saying that, to each their own. Everyone can wear their jeans sized how they like  😉
