    @goosehd:

    TCI tomorrow morning

If you need a break from your break, I am up on Andros for the next few weeks. Easy flights from TCI I believe  😃

I actually have been thinking about a bugout compound off as many grids as possible. I know some folks who have one in WY that is fricken nuts, pallets and pallets of ammunition, food, etc on a gigantic ranch. And for some reason, pallets and pallets of toilet paper… like, wouldn't it be smarter to have a bidet and make more room for food?

Yes I can confirm from personal experience that TP goes down the list of concerns when you're filling your bathtub with shoveled snow to have water to flush your toilet 😃

Oh, snap! For a second I was wondering if you were back in Jackson @popvulture with all their water woes but then I remembered the ice storms in TX. Godspeed!

Hahaha the infrastructure is decaying everywhere I turn! But yep in TX at the moment. Ice storms this time around haven't been as bad, been lucky — lotsa people I know though still without power.

Guaranteed this is a new one:

So the neighbors have a contractor doing something that involves insulation removal.

This morning I was in meetings wall to wall and was wondering why it was sleeting on such a warm sunny day.

Come to find out that this contractor has massed five feet of insulation in my driveway, on my car, and in my neighbor’s yard, and his fix for it was to simply blow the mess into my yard. When asked whether it was asbestos (from a home built in 1960), he didn’t know. Samples are being tested now. Even if it’s just cellulose, I’m full of rage and confusion for having this mess foisted upon us. There’s really no way to get this shit out of grass, mulch, and window wells, unless it does turn out to be asbestos and we have a hazmat team come out.

                    Just unbelievable.

@mclaincausey That’s nuts. Gotta violate some type of code regardless of whether it’s asbestos right? Here’s to hoping it’s not toxic and they take care of it quickly!

Good news: no asbestos tested. Contractor came back and cleaned what he could. Still need to get the cars detailed but on balance relieves we don’t have a hazmat situation.

@mclaincausey if he works for a company they have insurance that will cover all of your damages and expenses. If he’s just some handy man off the street you’re on your own. Let me know if you need any help. I dealt with shit like this for 16 years.

Dang. I’m really glad that wasn’t asbestos. What a pain in the ass, though. I hope they were able to get it out your grass so the dogs and kiddo aren’t rooting around in it.

Contractors man. Years ago now in Denver we had a neighbor bust up an old parking pad to put in a new garage. Turns out rather than taking all the rubble to the dump they chucked the excess into the sewer by lifting a manhole cover. Few weeks later one of the other neighbors had sewage piling up into their basement....

Turns out there was really nothing they could do but thankfully their insurance covered it.

Glad to hear your situation wasn't any worse but still terrible to have that mess on your have. People can be really inconsiderate at times.

@Giles I’m definitely with you on this sort of thing. Use of hands is inevitable until Costa is staffed by robots or highly trained dogs/cats/goldfish/anything else lacking hands. Everyone seems to be in on it though, not just Costa.

Another one that gets me is “specially selected” or similar. Selected because it’s good, it’s cheap, the seller thinks their average customer won’t know the difference?

I guess we’re back to the old question - why can’t everyone be like IH 🙂
