My fiancée and I are nearly the same size in IH gear, but she's a bit smaller than I am. There were a few times when I outgrew a garment and offered them to her.
She said each time, "Aren't these expensive? Are you sure you don't want to sell this?"
I said I'd rather see her strutting in IH gear than make a couple hundos. We match most days now
yesterday we both had denim westerns and slubby denim bottoms on And that's why you put a ring on that girl!

My wife loves my wardrobe and welcomes each new item. I was sporting some white Adidas Boost sneakers with jeans once, and she called me “Jerry Seinfeld.” Touche! Back to vulcanized sneakers when wearing jeans.
She does make fun of my Acronym outerwear, especially when I use the strap to hang it across my shoulder when not wearing. But she loves heritage and western wear.
We were once asked at a retailer if we were in town for the stock show by a retailer. We glanced at each other and chuckled: “no, that’s just how we dress.”

My gf put the kabosh on a Stetson felt hat I had — something like “eh that just looks weird on your head, sits too high.”
It stung because I totally knew it haha. I still have that Open Road in the box if anyone wants to buy it

Being a devotee of the sort of heritage / denim / rugged / whateveryouwannacallit universe, I feel like I hear stuff from my girlfriend all the time that's both hilarious and cuttingly accurate.
I'm sure y'all have experienced the same, so I decided to start this thread.
To start, my boots are some of my favorite things I own. According to my girlfriend:
Engineer boots = "Santa boots"
Lofgren Donkey Punchers = "They look like bowling shoes!"
but they do look like bowling shoes

Haha this is a funny thread. My wife generally likes my IH gear, although when I first started wearing western shirts I got lots of “cowboy”, “yeeehaw”, and “pard’ner” comments.
Now, the only thing she gripes about is the price. But hey, since I only spend my own disposable bit of money from how we split the finances, and she gets her own pot to do what she wants, I care not.

Speaking of bibs, I was getting off a train whilst wearing my overalls and I had a slightly sarcastic comment about my dress sense. It came from a youth with a very dubious mullet that was probably a bad idea when his father was his age, and hasn't improved in the intervening years.
