Do you guys size down 1 size in these serge westerns, compared to your UHF or chambray western size?  These look like they’re almost a full inch wider in the chest.  I’m 6’3 and 190lbs.  I typically take an XL in IH Westerns.  I’m split between a large or XL on this one

I size down in the serge, though it seems that the grey one would be short in the sleeves for me if I’d size down.

I personally size down one size with the serge from my UHF size because I’m typically between sizes and I can shrink the UHF to fit.  My personal experience is that the serge has almost no shrinkage regardless of how hot it is washed and dried (and the color becomes muted) and therefore always fits too big in my UHF size - especially with such a stiff fabric that doesn’t have much flex. In sizing down, I find the serge to feel a little tight as new but loosens up some with wear, so it works for me and looks better than the too big look.  If I wasn’t between sizes, then my UHF size would work.  I don’t size down on UHFs because of shrinkage when washing - they would then be too small.  Because the dimensions of this grey serge were a little different than typical, I unfortunately couldn’t make it work and didn’t get.  I’m hoping there will be a restock in future with more typical dimensions.  Just my experience and opinion.  Hope this helps.  John

I’m thinking the same about the sleeves.  25.5” is awful short.  I need at least 26” sleeves.  I can either go XL and it’s going to be big and boxy, or I can go large and it’s going to be super trim and short.  Neither are a great option.  It’s a bummer but I might have to just pass on this shirt all together since the sizing doesn’t look great for me.

Got my XL in.  For reference I’m 6’ 3 1/2” and 190lbs.  (192cm and 86kg).  Since I’m tall it’s hard to get shirts that a are long enough without being too roomy in the chest and shoulders.  Does this look too short, or just right?
