Has IH ever made a traditional style backpack? I'd love one in 21oz denim… Well built with no frills or gimmicks
at the risk of appearing disloyal to the IH brand I’d highly recommend the Goruck GR-1 - similar over-engineered/no-frills aesthetic imo

They had one in leather a while back.

Speaking of vests…I would like to see an IHV-02/IHV-03 style work vest done in leather. Preferably brown or natural color, but I would take a black one.
Pretty sure demand would be low, so not likely. And, although I can't find it in the archives on the vest threads, I am certain a work vest has been done in leather before. Perhaps they were special order in collaboration with another leather goods company??? @Giles or @Alex is this something that could be commissioned with Simmons Built as a special order?

agree, a dark brown 02 would be a great match with check shirts, or with “tailored” internal rather than patch pockets?

You could always approach Simmons Bilt directly for something specific and niche like this?

How about an IHM-15 Deck Half-Coat in the Oiled Whipcord fabric?
I find the IHM-15 a lot more versatile than the Deck Jackets: longer body, so no cold butt during winter and a hood that offers great protection.

This shirt is legendary. Any chance you could OD a gray 254 as an homage?

I’ll save G or A the time. We’ve been barking up that tree a long time. Even as I’m wearing my 64, really wishing I could buy more of them. It’s such a special garment.

. A while back IHUK got a shipment that was so massive that they had to show us. They spoke a little bit about what was in it and mentioned something about a surprise. Could it be?

I get that the IHSH-64 factory closed and the fabric is unavailable. That said, a IHSH-254 OD'd with the white snaps would be sick. The way the indigo got into the grooves of the snaps is so cool.*
*Disclaimer: I know nothing about textiles and the dying process and I also expect that the 254's sell like hot cakes and even if this worked it would be a terrible financial decision.

Good call, @Palmer
They did a run of black and duck paraffin coated ones a while back.
Speaking of a while back, the 2013 forum tee was printed with a velvet “ink” (don’t know the term for this).
Love to see that again.

@Tmulltuous agreed that alternative jersey fabrics in the stable as-is or made heavier could scratch the itch.

I was thinking of the regular ol’ 17oz brown duck, a wax coating would make me insanely sweaty.
