I think 3sixteen has changed the quality of cotton or something else in their tshirts. I have a drawer full of the long version black T-shirts and the last ones I got shrunk so bad I had to give them to a friends teenage son. I don’t think any adult could wear them after a wash and I get the XL! Something seems off recently. They just feel different than my older ones. The customer service was great and replaced the two I had to give away but the replacements are just as bad. After the wash I have to physically stretch them to try and get them to a wearable size. Very disappointing. Anyone else have issues with their T-shirts recently?

Day 25.
309 is still in Los Angeles. No one knows why it went there from Mexico. The border crossing was surely harrowing and the bitter cold of crossing the Rio Grande in the black of night surrounded by the eerie bowls of coyotes and the biting wind can still be felt deep within its delicate Aspero fibers. The shocking transition from living with uncertainty over whether it would make it another day to being in a truly strange and jarring urban landscape is palpable. Without money or friends God only know what horrors 309 will have to debase itself with in order to survive. You’re in the jungle baby. You’re gonna die!

The 309 awoke on the middle of the night, the campfire had dwindled to embers resembling the twinkling of stars in the pitch sky above. Or like the hot ground of hell. It was dirty… or bloody. It couldn’t remember which. The whores from the night before would have accounted for either.

I have tried everything but there is just something up with the shirts now it seems. Here is a photo of an older XL long and a newer one on top.

Man that is super weird, such a drastic difference there.
Despite the fact that I really like 3sixteen, I have had a few QC issues come up with them over the years. That said, their customer service has always been great. Maybe email em? I'm sure they'll help you, considering how nuts that is.

Yes they were really good about it and replaced them but the new ones were the same. I think the quality is different. They just feel thinner than the older ones. I’m hoping maybe it was just a bad batch because I love their long tshirts. I haven’t been able to get an answer from them about it though. This is an opportunity I guess to try a different brand. IH makes a long T-shirt as well so it’s probably worth a try.

@deanclean I've found Buck Mason's pima and slub tees are totally reasonably priced for a solid US-made shirt. I've got nicer tees, but theirs have been my basic go-tos for years.

thanks @popvulture ill check them out. Ill also look at Reigning Champ. They are in Canada like myself so may be a little cheaper at least for shipping.

Reigning Champ are great. The biggest issue for me with tees is length — I've found that on the nicer end, I also like Mister Freedom and Velva Sheen. Warehouse slub tees are amazing but they're on the verge of being too short for me.

@popvulture I found the velva sheen tees I had to be rubbish, but they are relatively inexpensive.
Merz B Schwanen are hard to beat for basic tees

@LewisStonehouse oh man yes I love Merz so much. I just ordered a heavyweight henley from S&S that I'm super stoked to check out. I've never had one of their plain tees, though… I should probably go that route next time I need some. Prob not for a while though, as I'm pretty lousy with tees at the moment. They seem to be the most copious thing in my closet haha.
The only Velvas I've had are the heather grey ones, which are super nice and soft, no quality issues so far. One of these days I really wanna check out some IH tees but I usually have to size up to get the length I want, which then adds side seams.

I’ll check all those out and look for measurements. I’m 6’2” tall so I like a longer T-shirt. I hate sitting down and having a shirt ride up my back. I wear my jeans a little lower on the hips so I like tucking the back of shirt in just a little.

Unfortunately, even the long 6.5oz. IH shirts are pretty short. I sized up, and still only wear them in the summer when it’s my only layer. Can’t tuck them in reliably at all. The 11 oz. are fantastic, and the length is long enough for me.

I have two of the heavyweight merz Henley's that are 14oz, and while I could have probably sized down one since the cut isn't particularly trim, I live the fabric. Even at 5'6" I'd say the length of a t shirt is hard to nail

I feel like you could shrink one of the heavy MbS down like a full size if you wanted. I really enjoy the roomy fit. I hit it with a somewhat warm wash to size it down a little though.

I've found their sizing to be a little weird sometimes — I got one henley in XL that was perfect (it fit more like an L), then a couple in XL that were really wide but tightened up enough when I dried them. Also have an L that's almost too tight, so who knows… those two sizes really seem to cover a lot of range, or they have for me at least. FWIW all the same fabric.
