I kind of thought that they just attached the sleeve backwards or rotated it. Can’t believe it wasn’t caught in QC.  How would you know if they switched the sleeves?

Also that is weird it made it passed QC. I have seen a few of those shirts on Instagram. Look pretty cool

Just try and imagine how the sleeve would look if it was sewn into the other armhole.  I'm sure that is what has happened…...

Yeah, G I think is spot-on. If both sleeves are fekked, they were simply attached to the wrong arm holes, which is resolvable via tailoring. If one sleeve is fekked, then they attached the wrong sleeve to one side and repair is a bit more difficult because the sleeve would have to be rebuilt.

At least that's what I'm assuming–I've never made a shirt so I could be off.

So I'm hooked…sleeves just flipped position or the wrong sleeve altogether?

The consensus is that the sleeves are switched. I sent Soso Bros. the picture and they just said we're making you a new shirt, didn't tell me what they thought went wrong.

definitely look switched. I agree it's amazing that it passed qc from any company. I'd even be amazed if I saw a mixup like that on a rack at HM or Forever 21 or something. If they're making and sending you a new one and letting you keep it, I'd either cut the sleeves off and vest it like you said, or cut the sleeves halfway and cuff a couple times to get a good short sleeve version.

The short sleeve option is something I hadn't thought of and may be the way to go. I don't think I'd need to switch them to accomplish that.

                          That is a great idea.

I have had this happen to me once before, but on one sleeve (they attached two right sleeves to the shirt). It was a pretty expensive Zegna shirt, too. I wouldn't read too much into it if they're making it right. QC processes are great, but even with rigorous ones in place, people are fallible.

                          BTW–cool shirt, @Jett129

It seemed as if they were really overwhelmed with orders in November and were pressing to get everything done before the New Year. The proverbial “Haste Makes Waste” I missed out on every IH shirt I wanted this season because of sleeve length, which is why I decided to roll the dice with them. Thanks for the compliment.  @mclaincausey

@Giles (or @Alex ), I think you mentioned partnering with a distinguished UK fabric maker (I can't recall the name, but it made me think of the likes of Harris Tweed) to make a CPO; is that still on the roadmap?

Certainly is.  The shirts are all on hangers in the office, just awaiting a decision from our retailer as to when he wants to put them live.  The fabric maker is Fox: https://foxflannel.com/

So this might interest someone, and I wondered whether anyone might know about this brand or coat?

So my dad gave me permission to liberate this coat from my uncle (mum’s brother, not dad’s), who had pinched it and was (ab)using it working on cars, heavy machinery and spot welding, that sort of thing. I had been under the misapprehension that my dad had this coat while he lived in Alaska for a while before meeting my mother, but I now understand that he picked it up in the U.K. somewhere in the early 90’s when he needed a winter coat, so it’s actually slightly younger than me rather than slightly older. When I liberated it it was in a bad state, with oil and grease stains and small burn marks from sparks up the arms and I had to spend £90 or so to get it professionally cleaned. The right hand cuff didn’t quite come back, there’s a couple patches where the suede was worn smooth but the cleaners did a good job. There’s also a small hole torn in the back.

The patch is pretty worn but reads “Hand crafted by Homestead Sheepskin Products Box 5241 Christchurch New Zealand”. It’s apparently shearling leather made by GL Bowron & Co Ltd. I can’t find anything about Homestead online, but Bowron appears to still be in business selling sheepskins and sheepskin products.

Thought I’d share as a little “I think this is pretty cool” kind of thing, and on the off chance that someone who passes by here might know something about the manufacturer. Because of the family connection and how warm it is to wear in winter, it’s one of my favourite things. Below I’m wearing it with a UHF in the indigo buffalo check, and a pair of Benzak “Blue Flame” B-03s which is their tapered cut.

Apologies if too many images, I’m still getting used to this forum, mods feel free to remove any you think are excessive!

                                  Take the dive...

What kind of thought process goes into choosing which color snaps/buttons/tags go on a shirt?  It seems like some color schemes have accessories that don’t match as well as others.  Like the 309.  No black in that one so white snaps seem like a more obvious choice.

Also, what happened to the burgundy logo tags?

Not sure about the burgundy tags either I am afraid.

I don't really think about it, but then I guess ugly fuckers don't think too much….
