Comfortable + cool + great for around town while being able to hop off paved routes:

…or use that aforementioned difficulty in conversion as a reason to get a new bike
I had feared this may be the case

My best mate owns a bike shop and he is having hell trying to get hold of components because of the pandemic. The secondhand market for components, prices are through the roof.
Keep your fixie and buy a new/secondhand geared version.

The used market for parts is stupid in my area now. Even basic ass bikes with cheap components are flying off on the used market. I've been trying to pick up a used bike for a little over a year and EVERY time I reach out about one it is sold or pending etc. The local bike shops prices for a used complete have gone up a ton, but they just don't have any in stock. It's been crazy.
I'd say just sell it as it is and but a ballin' new (to you) bike, with the gears you need.

Gorgeous bike @seawolf

Thanks! She's pretty quick! I've been riding for about 5 years, and this is my first ever brand-new bike. My last one was used and treated me very well, but it was time for an upgrade.

I like the geometry of the frame. I somehow can't "yet" get used to disk brakes on a runner. But a beautiful bike for sure!
Is that because you've never used them? I can't go back to rim brakes after this. And frankly I'm not sure I can go back to mechanical shifting after having a bike with electronic shifting.

Gorgeous bike. Love that name, makes me think of a song by a band I like @seawolf
I am with you on discs in general. I haven't made use of electronic shifters, but hydraulic disc calipers and whatever actuation is in use in modern drivetrains are game-changers.

Thanks! I can't speak to SRAM's functionality (although I've heard nothing but great things) but the Shimano Di2 shifting is out of this world. Coming from a very old Dura Ace groupset that was quirky and sometimes finicky, this shifts-when-I-tell-it-to system I have now is just delightful.
And I don't get a lot of rain here, but I've heard discs are without equal in wet conditions.
Which song does Greta remind you of?

Last Crit of the season tonight. The S5 has been a privilege to race this year.

??? That thing is HOT AF, @BloodnThunder ???
-
@henry_david Thanks! It's an incredible bike. Stupidly fast.

I'd have preferred it a bit blacker.
Ha! I love black bikes. The above photo does the paint no justice. It has a really cool glitter effect in the sun.

How was the race BloodnThunder

@Nkwkfld last race is tonight. This is only my second full season racing but it's been a busy one. Tonight will be roughly race 25 of the season.
