          As mentioned before, it has been a disappointing year for chilli ripening, so I cropped most of the remainder we had on plants.  In the warming drawer drying out, so I can make into powder later…

              I don't normally do fish fingers, but if I did, they'd probably be the best fish fingers in the world…..

                Pickled onions are my fuckin jam.

                My first thought for your small but colorful pepper bounty was to pickle them, but you are well versed in the art of brining.

                How did your preserved lemons turn out?

                    Im sure I've seen or read this week about a chef using fish fingers in a dish but cant remember and the only chef I remember seeing on the Tv this week was Nigella (don't know how I remember that)…...so Nigella?

                          My wife has been on a "bowl" kick lately. We shoot for healthy, but i have to add my own twist sometimes.
                          Braised red Cabbage
                          Wood fired Cauliflower
                          Wild Rice Brats (from a local famer near us. incredibly good quality but equally as expensive)
                          Whole Grain mustard yogurt sauce
                          soft boiled egg
                          Pickled Jalapenos from our garden
                          Fresh Cilantro

                              thanks Giles, it was really good. Plain Greek Yogurt makes such a nice sauce base we have all but eliminated our use of Mayo.

                                    all those curries look great @Giles. Do you stove top your rice or do you use a rice cooker?

                                    My electric stove (i will have gas in our next house; for the stove top too) sucks for cooking rice so I often use the rice cooker for basmati and I also buy my Ghee. Aldi has Ghee for pretty cheap and it makes a world of difference.

                                      FFS, it's rice.  You boil it until it's nearly done, then you hold it.

                                      It took me 35 years to cook rice well, but now it's a cinch….

                                            I dated a Hong Konger who could not be without a rice cooker. She swore that no self respecting Asian would stovetop their rice. I don’t buy that at all [emoji23]
