Yea no doubt. I just wanted to offer another perspective on nylon. The patent of nylon and the subsequent market and regulatory manipulations from DuPont led to many terrible events in human history. A UHF CPO would be quintessential Iron Heart, of course, but there are already many examples of quintessential Iron Heart, so maybe not a necessity.

And I was thinking a UHF/CPO would be what I would need/a necessity to visit you in Alaska.

I might sound like a broken record… but I’m going to go back to the rip stop material... as shorts would be cool....What about something like the IHSW 35 in an indigo or olive ripstop?

That material seems underrated to me. I love both my 185 and my 187 SO much... just a Friday thought 🙂

                Have a great weekend all

As far as I recall the ripstop didn't sell super quick and hit the outlet.

The OLV was a super underrated piece in my view!

The devil is in the detail..

Circling back to this and wanted to correct the record. The UHF CPO has already graced us with its presence in the form of ihsh-157 which was both a glorious success and a totally underappreciated failure. I could not find the funds for one myself (I've missed out on many many items since 2011  :'(), but I wanted to give the crew credit for this accomplishment.

Now back to the UHF-lined or Blanket/nylon-lined CPO debate…..

I rarely go for the same shirt in two colors but I got the Olive and the Khaki and they're great f'in shirts.

How about a slightly longer 2526J jacket?  The 2526PJ, maybe?  I love the 2526J but it sometimes looks a bit too short over, say a work shirt.

                        Blanket-line all the things!!!

I don't own this jacket but I have noticed that on the fit guide the length does seem awfully short especially considering it's a modified type III.  It's prevented me from copping one.

Understanding it's "modified," that is kinda the classic Type III look–short enough to be able to ride a horse or a bike without it getting caught up in your legs, which means even a T shirt will poke out below it. I think you have to be careful lengthening the pattern cos it can ruin the aesthetic if it is too long.

                            Think it, be it.

It seems like the only jacket that hasn't been lengthened.  I mean, if the 526J, the classic type III denim jacket got lengthened, why not this one?  It's a whole inch shorter than every other type III.  I get the aesthetic of it but I think most would prefer it be lengthened.  Not by a lot, 1-1.5" would be perfect.

I’d like a re-run of the hooded deck jacket. Not the long coat, the regular length. In black, navy, or indigo. Or really any color but khaki, lol

Right, but like @Paul9221  mentioned, for whatever reason this modified type III is significantly shorter than any other IH modified type III made by IH by a good 1-1.5"….at least in an XL anyways.  So to me this one has the classic standard type III length and really shouldn't be classified as a modified.

I'd have to disagree. The "modified" designation is not strictly about length. A true type III would not have hand warmers. The 2526J has them.

Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind.

Of course…handwarmer pockets obviously make it modified as well so maybe I should have worded that differently to be more specific.  What I'm saying is the length is more along the lines of a classic type III and not that of an IH modified type III.
