IHSH-190-GRN - Glen Check Ultra Heavy Flannel Work Shirt
-
I think the overall and sleeve length could be a indicator to size down. The shoulders should still be ok then.
-
I would be much easier to judge how the shoulders fit if you had both hands at your sides. And it would be easier to judge the sleeve length if we could see your full right hand. Maybe you could get someone to take the photo for you.
Based upon your photo, I think the sleeves are too wide in addition to being too long. I would definitely recommend sizing down one. If the shirt is also loose in the chest and stomach, maybe you could even wear a large. The work shirts are more forgiving in this area compared to the westerns.

Got some better pics… hopefully this helps!

It's at least a size too big IMO @tangfj

Way too big

Thanks guys! The IH staff have been excellent helping me out find the right size… ended up sending me the L and XL to get the fit right... Let me know what you guys think! XL and warm wash or keep the Large? Large kind of fits just right while the XL gives me a little more breathing room... Leaning towards XL but obviously, having a hard time determining the right fit...
Also, if I end up being a large in a workshirt, generally speaking would that make me a XL in westerns?
-
Most definitely a Large, possibly even a medium IMO although it's hard to see how they fit you in the chest and shoulders in those pics.
-
Large looks much better than XL. Maybe a medium would be the best size for you but as mentioned above, it depends on the fit of the shoulders and chest.
edit - In your post from last week you said you had an XXL and were thinking about sizing down to an XL. If this is true then substitute large for medium in what I wrote above.

i'm pointing out the obvious here but have you measured any of your existing shirts and compared them to IH's fit charts? I think that would've saved you a lot of $ in the long run if you knew your measurements.

Yup… tried that at first but it seems a lot of my current shirts are kind of frumpy on me... never really noticed it till now which is kind of why it’s been hard for me to get this right...
Anyway, I decided on keeping the XL and warm or hot washing it... the L was just too tight around the waist and had some button pull around the midsection so it was a little uncomfortable for me. Hopefully a warm/hot wash on the XL will help to shorten up the sleeves a little bit...

I think XL is the better option.
Keep the larger size and shrink it to some degree, you don't have this flexibility on the smaller size. -
I always go for the larger size, because I want to be able to hot wash and tumble dry all my clothes. I have a couple of jeans that I treat more carefully, but overall ain’t nobody got time for that! Especially with UHF, I’ve always gotten about a half-size worth of shrinkage by just chucking them in the washer/dryer with everything else, and I’m happy with that.

my only issue with going for a larger size is that shrinkage may not occur across the board in the chest, sleeves and body. If the body length is too long and doesn't shrink a fair amount then the shirt would look ridiculous on me.
