Is it just me or did the shoulders become pretty small compared to the chest measurements on many shirt this fall? Looking at XL in many items gives shoulders below 19" wjich is too small for me. But the chest/body of xxl is too wide.

@Alex  When you are next in the office, please can you do a random check to see if we are still measuring consistently…..

@Max Power We are using the same patterns, so any variation will be due to variations in how the different dyes and weaves sew up

Love the color on this shirt… This is my first UHF shirt from IH.  I got this in a XXL... being a bit new here, thought I'd post a pic to see what you guys think of the fit?  The sleeves are definitely way too long (folding once seems to do the trick but a little hard to pull off with such a thick fabric) but wondering if I should have gone with XL?  Sorry for the crap pic but it's the best I could do!

Would a warm/hot wash help to shrink up the length/sleeves?

ISO: IHSH-170 or IHSH-193 in size XXL

@tangfj Hi there…. great shirt. Fit is a personal thing so you should do what makes you happy. That being said here is my tuppence. Judging by the shoulder seams and the long sleeves you could maybe have gone smaller. But if you're happy with the length and chest I don't think it's a problem. A hot wash will get the shirt to shrink about half a size.

I think the overall and sleeve length could be a indicator to size down. The shoulders should still be ok then.

I would be much easier to judge how the shoulders fit if you had both hands at your sides.  And it would be easier to judge the sleeve length if we could see your full right hand.  Maybe you could get someone to take the photo for you.

Based upon your photo, I think the sleeves are too wide in addition to being too long.  I would definitely recommend sizing down one.  If the shirt is also loose in the chest and stomach, maybe you could even wear a large.  The work shirts are more forgiving in this area compared to the westerns.

Yeah, based on the last grouping of pics, I would say the shirt is too big.

The shirt is an excellent choice, but the fit is way too big, just like the others have already commented!

Thanks guys!  The IH staff have been excellent helping me out find the right size… ended up sending me the L and XL to get the fit right...  Let me know what you guys think!  XL and warm wash or keep the Large?  Large kind of fits just right while the XL gives me a little more breathing room... Leaning towards XL but obviously, having a hard time determining the right fit... 🙂

Also, if I end up being a large in a workshirt, generally speaking would that make me a XL in westerns?

Most definitely a Large, possibly even a medium IMO although it's hard to see how they fit you in the chest and shoulders in those pics.

Not necessarily, once we work out your prefered measurements, we can compare them from shirt to shirt to find the right size

Actually, after having seen the comparison pics, I prefer the XL. However, something will have to be done with the sleeves.

Large looks much better than XL.  Maybe a medium would be the best size for you but as mentioned above, it depends on the fit of the shoulders and chest.

edit - In your post from last week you said you had an XXL and were thinking about sizing down to an XL.  If this is true then substitute large for medium in what I wrote above.
