What's your favorite Beer?

That beer gets great reviews,especially for the coffee flavor,as the brewery doubles,or has doubled as a coffee roastery. Supposedly they used bourbon barrel aged coffee beans to brew the coffee they use in the beer. Had bourbon barrel aged coffee beans once and thought it was awful. Basically stale coffee that tasted like an old barrel. What did you think?

It was fantastic, but the taste/ flavour of the bourbon was extremely subdued. The coffee flavor, fruity, only slightly bitter, was just perfect.

All in all a very well balanced beer that you should buy and try if you like coffee, but not if you expect a bourbon barrel aged alike stout…

With my brother, AleSmith Reforged XX. Stellar.

Now: Pohjala Coffee Porter. Like a milk stout with coffee: sweet, but I like it!..

Yesterday I started with a 2012 Aventinus Tap 6. Exquisite.

Then a whiskey infused Cuvée van de Keizer 2015 - think I prefer the regular version…

Went shopping, highlights: Rosé de Gambrinus, Tilquin (Geuze)², Ranke Vieille Provision, 3F Cuvée Gaston & Armand.

Obligatory yearly evo test… Getting there... Sourness of the barrel shining through... Lovely...

Chestnut Brew Works Halleck IPA. Pretty much only found in West Virginia but it may be the best IPA I've had to date. Hoppy but balanced, smooth and creamy, with a clean finish. I bought a growler but wished they had bottles in stock to take back to St Louis.
