@Appfaff The serge is quite hefty for a 12oz.
I'd say it's heftier than your 141 (probably not as dense) but definitely not as chunky as an UHF. Hope this helps….

The cut is more workshirt than western IMO.

Chest is OK with a T-shirt underneath but while it doesn't really show in the pic, the waist and opening give me the dreaded by me pregnant lady look, especially from the side.
Shame, the fabric and colour are superb and the large bronze snaps bring it over the top for me…

Still need an olive shirt - hoping the upcoming military shirt will be a better fit

That's an easy fix for any tailor. I'd keep it and make it truly my own by taking in the sides. Apart from the problem you described the fit is perfect.

The mirror pic is deceiving, it does look quite good in it. The reality is while the top part is nicely fitted, the mid and lower sections are too large. From the side, it almost looks like I'm wearing a bell, if that makes sense.
If only it were as large in the top section as it is in the mid/bottom… I could have justify it as a layering piece.
As is, I can only wear a T underneath with that flaring effect in the lower half, which is not a fit I can be happy with..

@HPPI I tried that twice before and ruined 2 good IH western shirts. Maybe I had 2 bad tailors in a row but the 2x negative experience has put me off western alterations for good..

@zatenm I assume a small would be a bit too tight in the chest for you then?  The mirror pic doesn't look terribly large, but it sounds like its deceiving. I'm sure the bell issue would go away sizing down.

The XL (olive) will give me about the same size shacket as my 141, but I can't decide if this will look better as a slimmer shirt ( and drop to a L) or slightly oversized and layered and hotwash/dry (XXL) since the XL is sold out

decisions, decisions…  Ive been wearing my 141 everyday and clients are already commenting on my "Canadian Tuxedo" so need to add some variety to the mix haha

@Appfaff I went with my usual Large. I have a 76 which I use as a shacket when I need it. I want this one as a shirt. Fit is perfect imo, although a little tighter across the chest than some of my other Larges. Not a problem though..

Such a great shirt.  Second day of wear in the pic here.  L was a perfect fit for me (per usual) and I am getting compliments galore.

Can see this one fading in nicely.
