I just used the canvas and water scrub on the upper and outsole that VEB shared on this forum and then oiled the soles of these boots that have kicked a lot of shit (or snow) this winter. That technique is awesome, they look almost new. Oiled the soles too.

Very nice, I've been eyeballing several pairs of vintage engineer boots on the bay. I'm not ready to make a big $ commitment to engineer boots yet as I'm still not sure how I feel about them.

The good news Mega is you can start with Chippewa or similar without a big outlay to see how you feel about them. Chippewa to me are a great bargain, I'm sure there are others as well.

I love cowboy boots, but my favorite slip on and go boot is the engineer. Perfect winter boots. Feckin around with laces is great in seasons where you don't have to get all Japanese with your footwear (removing it indoors).
They look so damn cool.

In other news, and D has said the same, I'm really enjoying the lace to toe boots I've been seeing here.
