IH-526-SBG - 21oz Selvedge Denim Modified Type III Jacket - Superblack (Fades To Grey)

Super happy with the fit on this one
-
@jiminstitches It sure is a perfect fit.
-
@jiminstitches nailed it, dude
-
@eemmmiiee If you're walking around in 20+ degrees with this jacket on, you will be warm very quickly
I wore it a few times last summer over a tee. Whilst it came in handy in the evening, during the day I was just carrying it around. Because heavy denim is quite rigid compared, I get uncomfortable pretty quick when it's warm
-
@eemmmiiee it would be, and body temp is subjective of course, but I don't think i'd be wearing any denim jacket in 30C for long
-
-
So… well, here is an example when you’ve forgotten to pre-soak before washing. Iam devastated 🥲
What do you guys think?
-
Agree with @Matt. Continue wearing it and eventually will all blend in

I think as you continue to wear it it will continue to fade and you won’t notice it.
Just out of curiosity, why did you wash it in the first place? I’ve had a IJ-24 for about ten years and haven’t washed it once.
Yep thanks. I’ll hope so.
Well, it needs a refresh after a long day wearing in the sun.
Won’t happen again that I forget the pre-soak. Damn.
-
@suitcaselife Is presoaking supposed to help prevent this?

Heyho, jep. I guess it’s because the fibre will soften up with a presoak but I don’t know the magic behind it exactly
-
I've only machine washed one iron heart denim item. It looked that same way lol. And I did a soak. It's the spin cycle mtl. Now I hand wash in a bin. Snap a few times and hand dry
-
In good remembrance…
Well whatever. I will keep you updated how it turns out in the future.
-
@suitcaselife dude do not fret! It looks cool!!! Seriously, I love how it turned out. Embrace it, wear the hell outta it. It's already awesome and will only get better from here on out.
-
@suitcaselife own it and make it yours. It’s all part of the journey. FWIW I was really gentle with my stuff in the beginning and only washed my clothes in the tub. Now I don’t care and wash and spin like all my other clothes
-
Thanks @Oaktavia and @Tago-Mago
You’re absolutely right. I will just continue to wear the jacket and hope that the difference will decrease over time.

@Go-For-Chill SBG is a notorious marbler if not carefully washed. If you soak it in the tub for about an hour you can avoid this. Reason is marbling comes from creases the get pressed into the denim when it’s spinning about in the machine. If the denim is completely saturated before putting in the machine you can largely avoid the creases leading to the marbling pattern. Fully saturated denim allows the denim to be uniformly twisted and creased and avoid the marbling.
