I am so tired. But I am glad that's over. And they didn't seem too mad about it at work.
How you doing Giles?

I'm doing good thank you, but the new Kayak is using muscles I did not know I had, so I am knackered. But that is part of the reason I got it, to build up the strength in my legs…
I did have a bit of a "discussion" at the public dock yesterday. It was the first time I was landing the thing, so I was a little nervous about remembering everything and not making a complete lash of it. I got out of the kayak on the slipway and a motorboat came in behind me:
"Oi, we are landing there"
"Yeah, so am I and I got here first"
"Well I need to land now"
"I'll only be a few mins, and I did get here before you"etc etc etc
After I got the kayak out, the boat owner came over and was exceedingly nice to me. I think he knew he had been a complete twat. He did not actually say sorry, but did give me some advice on good fishing spots....
-
I love how you say twat
-
Haha yes, it's something special — I dated a British girl for a while and it always cracked me up when she called somebody one. It's all in the pronunciation, too — we yanks tend to pronounce it like "twot" but the Brit "at" usage is way better. They win at the insults.

Haha fantastic — Twats of Endearment, coming to Broadway 2022

Lmao

It's official, the number of people who have given up, surges during the pandemic…..

@Filthy:
Lmao
Christ alive.

I saw a pair of platform Crocs recently. They’re mutating like the virus.
-
Birkenstocks: "They don't make uglier footwear than me! Bonus: I stink too!"
Adidas shower sandals: "Wearing me in public guarantees you'll die alone."
Pajama pants: "What about me?"
Crocs: "All of you, hold my beer." -
Ahem, I will die clutching my Birk Bostons. And they don't smell that bad…
Also, I hear that Crocs are super comfortable but tbh I have never tried them on, due to the fact that I am legitimately scared I will like them. Can't have that.
-
Hey, there are plenty of comfortable shoes, and not all of them are abominations. That said, Crocs of course are comfortable. Wouldn't they have to be? For professions like being a chef, as long as you stay in the kitchen where they are not visible to the patrons, or being a prisoner, where you might not have a choice, they are a fine option.
If you need that springy sole and people see your feet from time to time, I'd recommend Adidas Boost

Having an “I’m surrounded my complete fucking morons” moment for going on a couple of decades now. The latest is an order for a new dishwasher (the brand new LG that came with our new home is worthless) with paperwork and an email reminder saying it should’ve been delivered and installed by now. Checking the web site, it claims there that I have yet to schedule the delivery (delivery and installation was scheduled at purchase and confirmed last night for this morning). I tried to call the salesperson, and the number said that they were not accepting calls and didn't afford an option to enter his extension.
I bought a Logitech Harmony remote (dog having eaten the previous two of these things at a couple hundred a pop) and it didn't work, and there was no getting support for it really. They just don't give a shit about these remotes at all and I think are winding down that operation, which makes very little business sense to me. They had some of the best universal remotes out there if they just would've invested a little in the software.
Ticketmaster sent me an email asking that I make sure I have the correct address for a concert that was postponed due to COVID. I provided the correct (our new) address, and they confirmed the update. The tickets have not arrived, and when I asked about that, they said that they could not find the order.
Finally, Waste Management decided they didn’t feel like picking up our garbage last week, so we have an overloaded stinky bin and cannot throw anything away. They also wanted to charge $80 to carry away a few boxes over and above our bin. I’m currently taking a hard look at alternative garbage companies, since Waste Management seems to be a garbage company.
