I know exactly what you mean - happened to me too. As much as I love talking about raw denim all day, it is kind of exhausting with someone who doesn't know diddly squat about it. Most of the time it ends up with explaining myself, why I am spending that much on jeans and such. So usually I try to avoid it, as long as I am not 100% certain the other person is open for that.
During the first years in the "game" my wife often mentioned my "300€" jeans or shirt in front of others that don´t know better. Eventually I begged her to not do that again - socialising has become way more enjoyable since then
Being raw-demin-outed by someone else is harsh
.I'd die of social embarrassment if someone told the muggles about the price of my jeans.

@don_pipone Absolutely lost it at this. It's certainly how it feels sometimes. There's no need to die on the hill for it when someone wouldn't appreciate or prioritise something like that in their life
