Andersen-Andersen knitwear

Going to try and size down to try and help with the boxy-ness. These sweaters are too nice not to have one.

-
As others have mentioned, these sweaters really are top notch.
If anyone is interested, there is a decent sale on at Pegg & Sons https://www.peggsandson.com/collections/brands-andersen-andersen?filter.v.availability=1

Thank you both so much! I'll gladly look into both options. In the meantime I've found the Andersen & Andersen navy crew neck. It seems to be very well made, and the price reflects that.

@RobeOfTheMagi I love me a wool sweater and have always had an eye on A&A. Looks good.
-
-
@RobeOfTheMagi nope, that looks fine as it is.
Is that an Andersen piece? -
Thanks @tody! I looks quite smart. I am usually between sizes. It's a bit snug around the neck, but the thick wool comes right out of the box so it might relax a bit.
For reference this is the Andersen-Andersen crew neck in size M. I'm about 180cm and 80kg. They usually advertise that size for models who are 187cm at 70-something kg for that size ...

@RobeOfTheMagi spot on I’d say! I really want to try one of their sweaters
-
@RobeOfTheMagi question moved.
-
Thank you @goosehd. I did not know this thread existed.
-
@sabergirl Maybe the neck is not really too tight, and I am just not used to that style. This sweater does not have a front or a back, which makes the crew neck wear - well unusual :-).
The sweater in this size feels a bit like the 19oz lefty od made out of wool, if that makes sense.
-
@jerkules I think I'm gonna cut the tag off :).
-
@RobeOfTheMagi definitely the right size. And wool will stretch too.
-
Looks good to me and congrats @RobeOfTheMagi
AA is the shit

@RobeOfTheMagi Looks spot on to me! Nice sweater!

I’ve been wanting an Andersen-Andersen cotton crewneck for a while - and actually went to the flagship store today to eyeball it. It was nice, but I didn’t get to try it on as they didn’t have my size on display, and the guy at the counter was quite busy so I didn’t ask him to find one (I had limited time, but I do think he could have made a bit more of an effort).
Then looking through this thread I decided to go for a full zip navy instead, I’m picking that up tomorrow.
I’m still a bit torn. I was looking at the cotton one because it is a little less warm and I have other wool sweaters. But on the other hand I don’t have other full zip wools - and in my experience cotton requires a lot more washing. And the pictures in this thread makes me think the full zip one will be a better fit.
-
Good call! A full zip will make it a very versatile garment for layering. I don't know the quality of their cotton knits, but the wool ones are my go-to pieces for the last 3 years now and still look new.
-
Totally good call. Happen to be wearing mine today for a lunch meet and going with a collared shirt underneath for a smarter look. But could just as easily wear it on a cold day with a henley, lounging on the couch.
