IH-1955S-142od - 14oz Selvedge Denim "1955" Vintage Tapered Jeans - Indigo Overdyed Black
Based on the classic Levi’s 501 from 1955, this cut provides a similar fit to our relaxed tapered 888 style, with a more traditional silhouette. To achieve this, the 1955 cut features a slightly higher front rise, a fuller knee, and a little less taper to the hem. This means that — just like the highly coveted vintage Levi’s that came before them — these jeans offer a relaxed yet flattering fit for most body types, shown here in our mid-weight 14oz selvedge denim.
To create this darkened variation, we take a pair of standard IH-1955S-142 jeans and steep the entire garment in black dye using a sulphur dyeing process. This stains the indigo denim and stitching, and oxidises the metal hardware — with the added bonus of removing all shrinkage from the fabric. A unique middle ground between our traditional indigo and black denims, over time the fabric will gradually fade with blue-tinged hues in high-wear areas.

Do I have it right that these will not shrink (even after washing and light drying) due to the overdye process and they'll also stretch out up to an inch with wear?
I have one other IH overdyed pair -- the 88s-21OD. I originally bought the same tag size as my other IH jeans, but found them to be trimmer than usual, in the waist and everywhere else. I ended up selling them and going one size up, which worked out perfectly. Love the overdyed look and feel but want to get the size right, as we all do.

^ Thanks, yes, I've learned that it's always best to trust measurements over tagged size. What I found interesting about my 888s-21OD experience is that it seemed the OD process tightened everything up a bit, not just the waist but legs too. So sizing up worked well. That said, the posted measurements for the 1955s-142OD look a little more generous, so I'll just let the staff know what I'm looking for, rather than focus on the tag.

Question on these. The leather patch, does it allow for a belt to pass through it or is it completely sewn down like the 18oz vintage denim.
I prefer to be able to use the patch as a belt loop

@Ral1121 Keep in mind these are the 14oz and typically don't have that feature... But not sure
edit: After looking at the picture on the product page, looks like it's sewn in like they always do.
edit AGAIN, i think I need glasses because I can't tell
someone with better eyesight can chime in.... -
