IH-748-BRN - 10oz Herringbone Wide Work Pants - Brown
Our “wide” work pants offer the most relaxed fit in the Iron Heart lineup, with a high rise, generous room in the top block and thighs, and the widest leg profile of all our cuts.
This model is made from authentic 10oz Japanese herringbone twill — a fabric rooted in traditional workwear and renowned for the durability provided by its distinctive zig-zag weave. Woven with uneven yarns to add texture and heft, this herringbone utilises sulphur-dyed yarns — so you can expect these pants to fade and evolve with subtle vintage character as you put them to work.
In addition to the wider fit, the cut includes all the over-engineering you’d expect from our pants — featuring a tack button-fastened waist with brass zipper fly, half-lined rear pockets for added durability, and reinforced belt loops.

I like that these don't have the hammer loop and side pocket like the 831's!
-
@GoodtimeJohnny thats why we made them!
-
@Alex Now I have to buy both!

The drape on those and the green ripstop one looks so good

I hope those fabric will one day make their way (if they hadn't already) to less wide work pants.
All the recent baker etc. series are really too wide to my taste, but I'm happy IH can satisfy more morphology also
The fact is I've find myself liking more and more pockets "à-la-chino", aka open on the side, but I find the chino's fabric a tad too messy in terms of wrinkles. -
I’ve had the strangest experience with these so far. Not sure if sharing will help or just give you a laugh at my expense.
These arrived at work earlier with no chance to try them on. Out of the bag the fabric looked and felt great but something made me doubt the dimensions would work. I held them up to my body and thought there’s no way they will work. Got home a few hours later and compared with other bottoms that fit me well. Hmm … the 748s are cut slightly different but not that different. Tried them on and everything works. The waist is slightly snug but nothing unusual. I can breathe. Everything else looks good.
I’ll try them again in daylight when I’m not frazzled, but I think these will turn out great.
If you want to avoid the ups and downs, trust the measurements, trust the crew but don’t trust your eyes (at least not till you’ve put your pants on)!
