Ready for my first Indigo Invitatioal with these 633! I had some extra denim from getting them hemmed, so I made a little DIY phone case with the extra denim. I’m no expert by any means, so hopefully it stays together. I’ll be using it once the competition starts. I think the phone case will get a bit more wear and tear, so it’ll be nice to see how it fades compared to the jeans.
Made it out to the LA shop about 10 minutes after opening. I had my eyes on the prize and was able to snag both items that I wanted; Indigo CPO and Indigo 633. The OD CPO looked and felt amazing, and it was hard to resist the temptation. Fortunately, they ran out of my size.
I figured some of you would like to see some shots of the CPO, so I took some quick photos. The 633 are getting hemmed, so I’ll take photos of those when I get them back.
Got to meet and chat with @Giles, @Alex, @kiya, and Demitra. Picked up some free goodies. Drank some drinks. Overall, I had a great time at the party.

Just posting an quick update here. I’ve had this for about 2.5 years. I wore it pretty heavily during the first year, but not nearly as often as I wore my jeans. I’ve always been a fan of the texture. After washing it in the washer for the first time recently, the slubbiness has definitely popped a bit more.
Been wearing this Tom Western a lot recently. Love the character that’s developing throughout the shacket. It definitely still has some sheen and squeakiness to it.

Second monthly check in for these SEXIH25-633. The honeycombs are pretty much set and showing more depth. The zippo fade in the coin pocket is starting to pop a little bit more. My left knee is fading a bit more due to playing with my young kids. There’s some very minor roping going on, which I’m excited for. The cell phone case fade is definitely the fastest fading piece in the overall project. Two months down! 10 more to go.
Great to see the activity in here. I purchased the Tom Western SK-13 in April. I’ve been trying to wear it as often as I could in this sporadic Southern California weather. I don’t need anything super heavy duty, so this “shacket” is perfect for me.
Due to these running smaller, I took a gamble on the size when I purchased it. Fortunately, I fell in love with the fit immediately once I received it. The sleeves are just a tiny bit longer than what I’d prefer, but all the other measurements work well for me. I’m currently eyeing the Kakishibu Type 1, so hopefully I’ll be able to add another Y’2 piece.
I wore it earlier this week on a family trip to Legoland, and it was awesome!
These have been worn for one year straight with just the initial soak; no washes. Typically at this point, I’d just give them a soak with a mild hand wash. I decided to try something new and threw them in the washer on no spin cold wash, after an hour-long soak.
The lighting isn’t ideal, so I’ll try to take some more pictures in natural lighting. I’ll be sending these off to IH for some repairs. In the meantime, I’ll be switching gears to the 888-SBG
Just wanted to post an update on this beautiful denim. I’ve been wearing the 633 everyday for a little over a month for Indigo Invitational. I’ve been wearing the CPO very sparingly for about two months since it hasn’t really been cold in Southern California. I started using the cell phone case the same time I started wearing the jeans.
@Denimhead-0 it has been too hot in Southern California to wear it recently. But I’ve got a few pictures showing some wear.
This was when it was “new”. I bought it secondhand.
This was about a year after I received it, with about 6-7 months of wear.
I really enjoy that it’s a bit more fitted and tapered.
While washing my 888 XHSib, I decided to also throw these in the washer. These have only been soaked once and washed once. Both pairs will be going to IH for some much needed repairs, then put into storage while I break in my 888 SBG.

The weather in Southern California has been a bit sporadic recently. I used it as an opportunity to get some more wear on the SK-13.
Fresh delivery! I went with a size large based off the measurements. The jacket fits pretty well overall, except for the sleeves. They were quite a bit long on me, so I just cuffed them. I think it works.
Definitely have to be mindful of the crocking with this piece. My hands are covered in indigo just from handling it. This will be a fun piece to fade.

I was able to soak my jeans over the weekend. I soaked it in cold water to minimize shrinkage. There was some shrinkage all around. Once dried, they were a bit tight and stiff. After about 5-10 minutes of wear, they were comfortable once again.

Just wanted to post an update on my 526J-SLBod. I gave it a soak yesterday after putting it through some heavy wear. Interestingly enough, the fades toned down after the soak, and aren’t as contrasting. It’s a completely different effect compared to my 888S-21ib. Could that be an effect of the OD? I’m really enjoying the different effects of different denims.

Approaching one year since I got these jeans. I’ve worn them for the majority of time since I received them. No washes, no soaks. There’s some nice fades coming in. No signs of crotch blowout yet. There’s a hole on my left knee from constantly being on the ground and playing with my son. It’s about the size of a US half dollar. I’ll need to get that patched sooner than later.
I’ll be giving them their first soak at the one-year mark. Excited to see if there will be any changes.
I’ve been wearing these for about two months straight. I feel like these will fade much more quickly than any other IH pair I have. Time will tell. There are already hints of grey popping out in the high wear areas. I’m excited to see how they develop over time.

The repairs are great! I’ll be able to wear these jeans for many many more years. If anybody is on the fence regarding repairs from IH, don’t be! I highly recommend it.

I picked up this piece recently from @HalfPastNever. This is my first IH shirt, so I was a little worried about the shoulder measurement being just a tiny bit too small. I decided to take a chance, and luckily it worked out for me.
I was looking for a black shirt. I was torn between this or the 361. Ultimately, I went with the 295. I want to wear it primarily as a shirt with a t-shirt underneath. It’s a bit stiff at the moment, so it doesn’t drape as nicely as the broken-in ones I’ve seen on here. But that makes me more excited to start breaking this one in for myself. I’d also like to add the 295-IB in the future.
