@popvulture I'm sure I'll eventually end up with a pair of these but after the past few months of purchases, and needing some SBG, this will probably have to wait till the next cold season. i can only hope they're available then.

Yeah I hear ya, always tricky trying to figure out if something will be available next time you wanna buy it. I’ve done the advance purchase before with the plan of saving for a rainy day, but then of course I get into em early because I’m an impatient child and then I’ve got too many pairs to get any fading happening 😂

@popvulture well :hand_with_index_and_middle_fingers_crossed: if people aren't buying up the last of my size after a couple months, i may just be able to pre-buy 😉 But i gotta give these ib's some love and i'm sorta without a black pair since i gifted my 777-142bb to my son. Those were a crotch blowout waiting to happen. a black pair is a must have though, and 888 is my savior lol

I am thinking this one, or the IH-888-XHSib version. The indigo is available in my normal size (36), but with a waist of 36,5, which might be borderline too large for a 888'...

@EdH Never had a pair that I can do this with, but will def get some XHS some day and want to do this (just for the lols if nothing else)---what's the strategy? Just hang dry and when they're dry they can stand up? I usually flat dry my denim, I wonder if that would ruin the ability to stand...

@schraiber I've always hang-dried them, yeah. I've always had more success when they come out of the tub (rather than using a machine). I wash inside-out, then get them the right way out while still wet, which will also open up the legs, which is the essential part of getting them to stand. After a day or so of hanging, they'll be good to stand.

                            Take the dive...

Hi all - I've got one pair of IH, the 634s 21oz pictured, and am looking to pick up my second pair. I've got fairly big legs but looking for a more tapered option below the knee so want to give the 888 a go. I was thinking 21 oz again but in the interest of trying something different and reading through the forum am now looking at the XHS. People here obviously like them, any reason not to go 25 over 21?

In terms of fit, the 634s are a 33 tag that currently sit at 34.25". Looking at the size chart for the XHS, the 34 tag is 34.1" so even a little smaller than where these currently sit (the 33 tag is 33.8" so not too much smaller but the 35 is way bigger). Is the 34 tag the way to go here? Can I end up getting a little more room out of the waist after shrinkage and wear than the initial size? Maybe looking for 0.25" or so plus or minus, but I know the 888 will sit a little higher so not sure exactly where I need to be.

                              Thanks!

@natefreezy - Killer fit on those 634s. A tag 34 888-XHS should fit you great. With a hot wash you can get an inch of shrink in the waist & theyll stretch out to where you want them with wear.

It's too bad Self Edge is out of your size(tag 33) in their exclusive 633-XHS. It's a 634 cut with the taper you're desiring. Maybe reach out to them to inquire about a restock? @kiya any info on that?

@cricca My 777's are 33 and 34, both ended up at nearly 36" waist because they're more around my butt. I sized down to a 32 and 33 for my 888's, depending on the measurements, and they've both stretched to nearly 34" and my belt sits much higher, in the perfect spot. Still below my hips but over my butt, exactly where my underwear waistband is, and this is so much better for me. They're not awkwardly high, just right.
