I have one of the 14oz ( I think) sweaters that has become a bit big due to weight loss and was a bit big to start with really ( rookie error when in my early ordering stage )
Would a wash and tumble dry shrink it a bit and if so what temps would I be looking at?

@Brian Probably not no. If it doesn't have a print you could blast it at 90C (which may distort the weave of the fabric). That might help. But any shrinkage achieved with 60C will stretch straight back out again.

I would think throwing it in the dryer would shrink it up nicely for you. A hot wash too if it’s really big.

I do a warm machine wash and tumble dry hot my IH sweats all the time and haven’t really noticed more than a subtle tightening that stretches back out again.

@Oaktavia +1 to the patagonia rec above. Specifically the ones with the hydrolock closure. These stay put, dry fast, and are pretty minimal. Only things a pair of swim shorts need to do imo. You'll likely want to wear something under them though if you dont have the appropriate layer, I'd recommend the bn3th entourages.

I only purchased 'premium' swimwear once (Orlebar Brown), but as great as they looked, they developed a rather revealing tear after just a few months of daily wear...

I swim most days before work, and my current pair of cheap Speedo swimshorts have served me well for over a year, so I won't be splashing out again anytime soon.

Super comfortable, lovely fabrics and nice designs. I first saw them for sale in a dedicated shop in a mall in Bangkok (next to one of the Pronto stores). Paula bought me a couple of pairs, then I deep-dived into eBay, got some amazing pairs, but a couple of rip-offs......

I'm wondering if anyone had experience taking heavyweight jeans to a regular tailor to be altered?

I have a beautiful pair from ONI (20oz) that are way too big in the top block, and just don't look right (bunch out on the outside of my thigh and scrunch up on the inside..)

If I was to provide a 'reference pair' of better fitting jeans, is it likely they could be tailored accordingly?

Might be a silly question, but I have minimal experience with tailoring.

@T4920 I’ve done it and he had to use the sewing machine that he would normally have used to repair or alter leather. I just tried them on and showed him where I thought they needed to be taken in,he marked them with chalk and did it. Came out great.

If you trust your tailor you should be fine. Mine fixed some crotch holes and did an awesome job.

I have chosen to replace nearly everything in my wardrobe with IH over the past five or so years. I don't wear anything else (aside from a Ship John's Waxed Wills jacket). Does anyone else do this? I'm curious which of is on here have fully surrendered to this brand...I just can't help it. Everything IH is just, well...better in my opinion. Nothing else is appealing to me anymore.
