I have about 10 pairs in rotation.. I wear a pair every day for a week, wash on Saturday and start the next week off on Sunday with a different pair..(gotta be clean for church and all) doesn’t matter heavy weight light weight.. I just wear them and wash them.

        • makes it easier to justify when you wear them all a few times a year.

I have my main pair that I wear 4-5 days a week being my 777S-21ib and every other day I wear my slubs. That way, I can still see fade results on my main pair and still able to wear something else.

I wear what I want when I feel like it. I do have a tally counting app on my phone, and each pair/shirt I own gets a tap whenever it gets worn for a day. I have an alert on my phone to remind me, it’s set for 8pm when I’m normally doing nothing other than putting small children to bed, so not difficult to forget. I don’t track it religiously, if I forget to do it then I don’t really care.

I have two reasons for doing it: 1. I’m a dork, 2. if I ever sell an IH item, number of wears/washes would be useful info for the buyer. I know I’d like to have an idea if I was a relatively expensive item.

I don't keep track of anything formally. I just wear 'em and hang them up at the end of the day. I wash them when needed (inside out, cold gentle cycle, hang to dry) maybe once or twice a year. I do have a couple pairs that I wash and put in the dryer because they're a little big and I don't mind them shrinking up or fading a bit.

              Wants List:
              IHSH-20-Red, XL
              IHSH-208-Indigo Kersey, L-XL
              IHSH-254-Grey Kersey, L-XL
              IHSW-45 Black, M
              IH-526SV 21oz type III, 38 or 40
              IH-777S-SB size 32
              IH-777S-142 size 31 or 32
              IHJ-142-BLK or IND, M

Please help me decide: which Fall release should I buy?

I have a credit in the store and can you pick one item…

                  So should I get:

                  a) 634S-A Anniversary jeans (in a size 35 because my other two 634 pairs are getting roomy in a size 36)

                  b) I HJ-115-IND fleece lined 14 oz type 3 (I recently sold my blanket lined 297 because it was way too big and this would be a great alternative... But I already have an indigo corduroy type 3... So this would be slightly redundant)

                  c) IH-777-142ii double indigo slim cut (I have wanted a pair of double indigo something for a long time and now that I'm skinny maybe a different cut is in order)

Please don't suggest that I buy all three, because I definitely cannot.

Someone can correct me,but I think there’s a 21OZ Double Indigo in the pipeline that you migh really want. If that’s not true, then the Anniversary jean, and if your size sells out before you can get them, then the other ones.

All three are good choices and you know you’ll love what you get. What does your closet need the most? I know your jacket game is really strong, do you need another mid-heavy weight type 3? I think it is different enough from your indigo cord but is it a useful piece?

The jeans are tougher, if you already have 634s are the anni different enough to warrant another pair?

Mike, this is a tough choice and my first inclination would be to take a similar approach to Anesthetist.  If that doesn't get you anywhere (and I know I can be Mr Indecisive at times), you could try a random approach.  Roll some dice or something.  If the outcome immediately makes you feel you need to make it best of 3/5/7/etc, you can eliminate that option and you're left with a slightly easier 2-way choice!

After an excellent conversation with Stevie/ @Oaktavia yesterday and considering what @Nkwkfld @Jett129 @Anesthetist @ARNC had to say… I I'm going to go for the Anniversary jeans in a size 35. I have a leather jacket I don't wear all that much and I'm thinking maybe I would appreciate having a pair of 21oz jeans that fit perfectly, quite a lot. So I'm going to go with this.

If they sell out too quickly I can always wait and get something else.
                              Thanks a lot!

I'm tempted even though I'm an 888 devotee and just bought a pair of slubs. We'll see what happens at the party. Looking forward to trying on the denim rider's jacket.

When Haraki created his first Iron Heart jeans he decided that, rather than following most of the other Japanese jeans makers who were naming their models after Levi’s 501 or similar, he would create identities for his jeans that celebrate their Japanese heritage, history, tradition and strength.

He explained that the numbers 6 – 3 – 4 in modern Japanese would be pronounced “roku – san – yon”.

But in Japanese, there is an alternative pronunciation derived from their ancient language, which is similar to Chinese, and for 6 – 3 – 4 this is “mu – sa – shi”. So his first Iron Heart jeans are named after a famous, historic Japanese Samurai, Miyamoto Musashi, simply known as “Musashi”, who lived from approximately 1584 to 1645, who wrote and featured in many stories and became renowned for his excellent, unique double-bladed swordsmanship and undefeated number of duels.

Also, his bootcut model, the 461, has similar references. The numbers 4 – 6 – 1 in modern Japanese are spoken “yo – roku – ichi”, but again if pronounced the ancient way become “yo – ro – i” and yoroi means “armour” and is the name of early Japanese armour worn by the Samurai class of feudal Japan. Finally, we asked Haraki why he used the number 9 prefix for the black versions of these jeans (9634 and 9461) and other items. He told us that in Japanese the number 9 is pronounced “kyu” or “ku” and the word for the colour black is the similar sounding “kuro”.

"I don't give a shit what anyone else is doing, we will do what is best for us and our customers" - Giles P. :)
