      Any-hooo….

Quiet few days here, at least out of work. Lots of playground duty  as Hot Ingrid is writing her Bachelor thesis (she’s a qualified journalist but is re-training to be a teacher). She took a break to join the smalls and I. Low and behold, she put the tour jacket on when she left the house. It was 20C so she didn’t even need it [emoji849]

I’m getting to try out some lightweight IH denim (and the 777 cut) for the first time as a result of a cool trade with @bryaneidins70  (cheers buddy). These are the IH-777-14S-od. I’m impressed with the denim and even more impressed with the 777 cut (note the long untucked IH polo though, need to hide that plumbers crack).

Alfred is a big fan of the Papa. He’s always stealing my PN headwear regardless of the season.

Alternative ways of getting jacket evo… let a two year sociopath called Edward beat the crap out of it (and you).

Right, off to watch the last episode of GoT.

How’s the thigh on those 777’s? You size up in them?

The thigh is a little tight at the top but absolutely do-able without the sausage leg I get on 555's. They are w34 (measures at 35.5") which is a touch big but nothing a belt doesn't sort out. Given the lower rise it really isn't an issue as the waistband sits on top of the hips nicely, contra the 555 that flaps around the waist or sags down and causes nappy butt if too big. The 777 is definitely more forgiving than the 555 for those of us with big legs. The wider knee is the trick.

Had to go in to town today for a medical procedure. While waiting I had a walk around the waterfront in the fine weather.

Tried a couple of panoramas. The small boat harbour:

Our new, very expensive and very beautiful public library.

The medical procedure called for me to be nil by mouth for six hours. By the time it was finished I hadn’t eaten or had water for 13 hours. So…

300grams of patties, cheese and bacon. As I’ve mentioned elsewhere I restrict my meat consumption to a minimum but today called for a blow out. I’m all for hipster gastro-burgers but as we all know, there’s no school like the old school and these burgers haven’t changed in the 20 years I’ve lived here. The same recipe for the patties, the same bread, nasty ranch dressing and spice mix on the pommes frites. It was good.

So true. Can’t conceive of eating it on anything else but on a big dirty burger it is grand.

It takes an IH world tour to be reminded how mundane your life is. The wife is still finishing off her year at uni and I’m still on playground duty when I’m not at work.

There’s always something going on though. My town has a major NATO base (it was a super secret comms monitoring station during The Cold War) not far away and a major military air base too. As such there are often international military training operations and manouvers going on. At the minute the peace of the Arctic is continually broken by jet fighters and support aircraft overhead.

This pair couldn’t care less though [emoji1]

Tour jacket with some XHSib and wabash…

Oh, and I tidied my closet. Denim currently in rotation:

It’s been a long old week. The school year is ending with a bang as always. We have a system that involves teachers in the exam process quite heavily so I’ve been writing and assessing all damn week and I’m carrying on next week too.

When I was walking around school the other day I saw a familiar looking fellow on some marketing material, teaching the crap out of some youths while looking badass in a  IHSH-62-IND. Also, this was when I weighed about 12kg more than I do now…

Bodø is a funny old place. About 50,000 live here and it is a regional capital, but it is still in the back end of nowhere. It has been boom town the last few years though with an insane amount of development.  Still big enough for some street art.

The town was bombed to fekk early in WWII so there are very few pre-war buildings left. There is a lot of late 20th century municipal architecture but some of the 21st century stuff is pretty tidy. It all makes for some interesting contrast.

I do a bread bake once a week to avoid having to buy expensive mass produced stuff that is full of shite. It’s a simple dough but it tastes good and I find the process theraputic. I do the whole thing by hand and get to wear specialist IH gear while I work.

Otherwise I try to cook food from scratch most days. But my local Turkish takeaway does a doner kebab pizza with fries on it so that gets in the way now and again..

June in the north isn’t a summer month, more like early spring in the UK. Some good weather, some cold weather some rain. The small ones do well whatever.

For the really crappy days I take them to the local library…

Last couple of days have been lovely so I got up the cabin. We’ll be entertaining some IH guests here later in the summer…

                                        Eddie found some elk poo...

We went down to the lake..

                                        And got wet…

Hot Ingrid tends to sit around looking hot…

IH and ice cream for life…

Wow, your bread looks amazing, Reuben. I've recently started making home made bread as well due to the fact that mass produced bread is unhealthy in the long run with all the added chemicals.

I've been trying out different types of bread which is why I'd love to get your full recipe on all types of bread that you bake and would recommend me! I usually try to bake my bread in the easiest way possible with oats/ oat flour, Himalayan salt, water, chia seeds and instant yeast.
