Nosferatu was an exquisite work of art. Incredible cinematic shots of symmetry and compositions to that of Renaissance paintings. Brilliantly brutal from start to finish. Eggers has set the bar for high art. Best movie I have seen in years.

I was on a flight this week and decided to watch Conclave.
The whole thing was pretty predictable but it had some good acting in addition to what I thought was some amazing cinematography. A few scenes had a strikingly crisp aesthetic similar to Jodorowsky in places. I've definitely regretted watching other movies more on a flight. #lowbar

I’m def interested in Anora, Butalist and A Complete Unknown. Conclave isn’t speaking to me. I probably won’t see Amy of them. I still haven’t seen Oppenheimer. I can’t remember the last serious movie I watched.

I saved this post to remind myself I need to catch up on some “real” movies. Only one on this list I’ve seen is “Nomadland”. Really want to see Anora. I loved Baker’s movie “The Florida Project”

A masterpiece, like “I’m a robot but that’s ok” or “Oldboy”.

@Matt had no interest in going to see conclave but since I was a captive audience with it playing for free and not much else worthwhile I gave it a go.

I thought Oppenheimer was an over hyped pile of trash. Felt like watching a 3hr long set of movie trailers if I remember correctly. Personally i wouldn't recommend anyone bother with it.

I'm kinda interested to see the substance after hearing about it on the radio a while ago.

I also want to see Anora, just seems to be my kind of film. Oppenheimer needs some effort to watch, and due to it's length and the political bickering was in parts a bit boring for me. But the filmography and acting is a real pleasure. Who hasn't seen Parasite yet, should do this. It's just wonderful. Exciting, funny, weird, beautiful - all to the right amount IMO. Tonight, it'll be Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance for me, since I haven't seen that one yet- The last (for me, actually the first) of Park Chan-wook's Vengeance Trilogy.

Haven’t seen Parasite but it’s on my very large list. Mickey 17 too.

@endo there’s a Korean film called “I Saw the Devil” that I highly recommended. It’s so crazy moody and violent and well done.

Wild. I’ve seen exactly two of those, Parasite (which I think @Matt would enjoy) and Oppenheimer. I enjoyed both of them immensely. I’m sure I’d enjoy a couple more from that list. Maybe one day…

@jordanscollected agreed, it is a good film.
The bad guy in it, is also in the original Old boy which is also a good film. Josh Brolin played his part in the remake.

Best films of the past 5 or so years that first come to mind for me would be “three billboards, jojo rabbit, and poor things”. “dune” is shaping up to be to a masterpiece but this is known.

The whole family loved this. Won the academy award for animated film. Really cool…no dialogue, beautiful animation. Stuck with us.
