What kind of service/repair shop should i look for shortening sleeves on my IH-526Lod ?
Do they need the same (union special) machine used for hemming the jeans? I went to my local tailor and he just said - my machine can’t go through that

I had a 20oz Oni type 3 sleeves shortened. It worked. But it doesn’t look close to as clean as it did as original. My guess is that it’s quite hard to do properly.

No, there are about 13 separate machines involved I'n making a pair of jeans or a denim jacket. The Union Special 43200G, is just one of them, and all that does is sew the hem.

You'll need a very good tailor who has a bullet proof walking-foot (or something like that. But frankly, I would not bother, the risks are massive.

@Giles after 9 years, long story… I finally soaked my IHSH 45. It got, forgot spent a couple years in garage inside a tote. Most it’s life was on top shelf of closet out of site of mind. Did I harm the denim? by letting it sit around in the raw state for so long?

Was wondering why I have never seen any “ pleated” work shirts before.
I mean the pleats, or “ darts” on the back of a shirt along the yoke.
Was the boss just not liking that look?

@Giles (or @Alex ) Were the Dobby cloth shirts (both the 380 work and the 389 CPO) made at the same factory as other IH shirts have been made for years? I'm curious as it seems like the fabric may have caused some sizing issues, or possibly a new partner to make IH shirting?

They were made in the same factory as other shirts, yes

This is the issue, not the factory. The whole reason we have product specific charts is that sizing varies a lot run to run, product to product, as you know. It's super frustrating, but it does happen from time to time on new releases. I think this one was just more highly anticipated than usual, so we have seen more disappointed customers that couldn't make the sizing work.

Thanks @Alex. Your teams ability to cater to western sizing and fits is exactly what set(s) IHUK apart from other Japanese brands from growing like you did. I figured it is a fabric challenge and not an oversight.
