Yeah, it’s not their fault. I’m just annoyed that they charge $45 for shipping and don’t use expedited shipping through somebody other than FedEx, which is horrible here in the southeast US.
-
If it’s any consolation, FedEx is shit northeast US as well

10-12 inches of snow yesterday that took all morning to dig out from. Today warming to freezing rain temperatures with 5-15mm freezing rain forecasted, followed by and 25mm of rain, with high winds of 100 km/h.
I’m going to call it now and I’ll be without power for a day or three. Generator has been filled, extra gasoline stored, and chainsaws at the ready.

@Chap he may have to operate heavy machinery, so no booze for @goosehd I’m afraid. Safety first!
Yes of course you’re right… but maybe a little beer after all the heavy work might be ok

Maybe I am too old for the world I live in. Having breakfast in our hotel in Tromsø this morning. Couple of Brits in late 20’s early 30’s having a very loud discussion about the ethics of going to see Seals (I guess in captivity). They decided not to. This discussion was taking place as a very large packed lunch was being made from the breakfast buffet. Then to slam dunk the irony, they left plates of uneaten food on the table when left.
I do struggle being civil with arseholes like that.

Now that the dust has settled I’m ready to talk about it…
As many of you know I had a rough ordeal with a tooth infection last year. Well, for the past week now I’ve been going through the same thing with the same tooth on the other side. It’s the molar in front of the back tooth. The first one began as tooth pain that the dentist said needed a root canal. The pain was intense and the dentist did nothing for it. The RC dr said no RC because the tooth had too many cracks in it so I needed it pulled. She gave me an rx for antibiotics and the pain subsided quickly. The dr who ended up pulling the tooth worked at my dentists office but only 1 day a week. This was likely because he was 185 years old and had Parkinson’s. At the end of the day despite my terror at him coming at me like a crazed serial killer in a basement the procedure went well and I should be ready for the implant and crown soon.
Now last week when I was awaken in the night by the same exact pain I went to the dentist and he said it looks like your filling is old and doesn’t do its job anymore so we’ll do a crown. He sent me home on Friday with an appointment for Monday and again with no antibiotics despite my telling him the pain was the same.
Let me pause here to describe the pain; it fucking hurt real bad. Like your whole head being squeezed in a vice. I was on ibuprofen , acetaminophen , oxycodone, alcohol and weed and it still sucked. Didn't sleep a wink, couldn’t eat.
My Monday morning the entire left side of my face was swollen and my gums had turned white. My wife took me to the dentist early and they said you need a root canal. I was dubious. The same endodontist as before said yeah no. Too many cracks. She was kind enough to shoot me up full of Novocain and prescribe antibiotics. They also set me up with an emergency extraction the next day, yesterday, at a different dr.
This one didn’t come out as easily as the first one. She gave me no less than 6 shots because she said it would likely be very painful. There was pulling, pushing, twisting, drilling, hammering. I thought she was building a sun room in my fucking mouth. I made it as far as the car before I started shaking uncontrollably. The obscene amount of Novocain had already worn off. I was too out of it from the pain to go back in and ask for another shot so I drove home and by some miracle made it without incident. As I lay in bed Katie was terrified watching me literally writhe. She got my rx and after about 15 minutes it had settled down.
Needless to say, I’m dentist shopping this week.
