@flannel-slut yeah Lowe’s lumber is pretty shit. I’ve found a better spot, closer to home, but they charge a good 30% more. Fuhhhhh

A couple years back, I wanted to build some picnic tables for my backyard. We have a pretty big outdoor patio area, so they needed to be at least 10 or 12 feet long or else they’d look like toddler tables. I found some plans online that I altered to work, and when I tried pricing out wood locally the costs were astronomical. I was hard set on having cedar and nothing else. I finally just reached out directly to some local cedar mills about an hour or two outside of town and got a direct price from them. $700 delivered on a flatbed trailer to my driveway. Other high-end lumber dealers in the Nashville area were charging me $1500-$2000 just to pick it up at their warehouse.

Didn’t even bother wasting my time going to Lowe’s or Home Depot, as I knew their choices for wood would’ve been absolute shit, let alone overpriced.

                Wants List:
                IHSH-20-Red, XL
                IHSH-208-Indigo Kersey, L-XL
                IHSH-254-Grey Kersey, L-XL
                IHSW-45 Black, M
                IH-526SV 21oz type III, 38 or 40
                IH-777S-SB size 32
                IH-777S-142 size 31 or 32
                IHJ-142-BLK or IND, M

Another restaurant related rant. At the culmination of a recent dinner in Venice we were handed the check and a tablet and asked to leave a review. We didn’t. It was actually really good.

Somebody hit my truck yesterday trying to overtake on the right after running onto the shoulder. Entitled, impatient, selfish, reckless.
Minimal damage luckily. Side mirror dragged across the rear half of my vehicle, should buff out, but I filed a claim anyway.

Excuse: "I thought you'd let me in."

You were in my blind spot. You were never ahead, never entitled to pass, and did not have right-of-way. Out of impatience and entitlement, you left the roadway illegally and your driving was dangerous.

It's about the same move Lando made on Piastri in Canada this year.

Almost happened again this morning with a Nissan overtaking thru a turn lane. Nearly blasted through an intersection curb and light pole at redline, while I was forced to swerve to leave room for Mr. Special.
This nearly happens every single day. Some road designs are to blame, but drivers need to chill the fuck out and remember we're all just waiting in line.

                    Be safe out there folks.

@Jett129 Its a battle out there. I try and sit back, avoid trouble, go with the flow and act like I'm invisible...which apparently I am. I leave reasonable gaps, don't camp in the left lane, use my blinker, and generally try not to create waves in traffic. Some people are out of their minds though. The rat race is real. In order to avoid colliding with these crazies, you really have to go out of your way to accommodate them, even when they're blatantly at fault.

If I 'stood my ground' and 'enforced' my right of way, I'd have people crashing me every day. How much leway do you have to give to 'let people in'?

@WhiskeySandwich Do you live in Sacramento? This describes perfectly my daily experiences of driving here. I often wonder two things: where the hell are the police when these morons are pulling their special maneuvers, and how have car insurance companies not found a way with all of their billions to track these knuckle draggers and jack up their premiums to account for this recklessness? I'm pretty sure we safe drivers are paying more to make up for these special people.

@MisterEclectic No, I work between DC and Baltimore and it's wild west enough lol. I had at least 2 marked local cruisers drive right by us while we were pulled over.

I think insurance just levels local rates based on the totality of risk and dont single anyone out unless they have a particularly high number of official claims against them.

One problem is that many roads are horribly designed. I say this as a person who was a civil engineer in a past life. Some designs encourage shitty behavior (particularly in yesterday's case). The other problem is there is no enforcement. Most people wild-out consequence free and It must just be a locally accepted fact that vehicle damage is a way of life....as many damaged cars i see just rolling around untreated. I have a pretty low tolerance for ignorance and neglect.

There are some insane drivers in Germany as well, although it probably seems harmless to you, since for example passing on the right is not allowed here. Having said that, the craziest thing that ever happened to me was a guy pulling a gun from his glove compartment and brandishing it in his car while cruising alongside me at 100 mph. Apparently, I didn't get out of the way fast enough and he didn't appreciate me flipping him the bird in response to him flashing his lights at me. Fun times on the Autobahn

Absolutely crazy behavior and something I’m surprised to hear about outside the USA. I hope you got their plates and held this maniac accountable.

I would imagine a brandishing allegation would call his license to own a pistol into question in a country that actually has gun control laws, though I am surprised that someone with a rap sheet would be allowed one in the first place over there.

He very clearly doesn't have what it takes to safely and responsibly own and carry a firearm. Hopefully this won't be exposed in a more dramatic situation.
