I think almost every country needs to rethink speed limits as they are all based still on a antiquated car with drum brakes and no thought to to modern cars, speed doesn’t kill it’s the stopping or stupidity of the driver

@NickD possibly, although even in a car-crazy country like Germany the attitude towards a general speed limit has changed over the years

Cameras and speeding fines are very unpopular in the UK, but drivers have slowed down over the years, especially on motorways.

@NickD hard to drive quickly when you're stuck in first gear for 2 hours on the M25

@AdamJ it is sometimes possible to make it to second gear! Still the soles of my office shoes always wear out faster on my clutch foot.

@NickD especially the ones who feel the need to perform an emergency stop whenever they see a speed camera

The M25 is a one of the reasons I now drive an auto.

@NickD yes. depending on the type of road and the amount you're over by. at some stage the fines are based of your income.

a3 to m25 junction gets on my nerves every time after leaving gosport. wonder if that shit show has been completed
