Long-time lurker here, looking for some advise.
Has anybody had any experience with having sleeves taken up? I think I’d want them taken from the cuff but I’m not adamant. Is it risky? I’m considering getting this beautiful Warehouse & Co work shirt in a (6-8oz?) chambray, but the sleeves are almost comically long..
      Any feedback would be appreciated!

I’ve read about it being done and asked my seamstress about it. It is doable in theory and you’re correct that the cuff needs to be detached. The challenge comes with the construction of the cuff/buttons and opening. If you have a seamstress/tailor you trust then show them a picture of the actual shirt and see what they say.

Not directly related to shirts but I spoke to someone recently who attempted to have the sleeve length reduced on a IH Type III and the results were less than satisfactory. Proceed with caution!

Took a trip up to London back before Christmas, and dropped off my Trooper boots for repairs and a pair of Clark's Desert Trek for a resole…

The guy I took them to, Felix Jouanneau, has a tiny little artisan shop (by the same name) for shoe making, repairs, alterations and leather work.

Last night on IG, I saw a preview of the repair work on the holes in the uppers of my Trooper Boots. I gave him free reign on what to do... i'm happy with what I see!

@UnTucked thanks for putting me on to Felix. He's going to rework my Viberg engineer boots for me, puy a Dr Sole heel on for me, shape and stain the heel block. He seems like a pretty cool guy.

                Great to hear!

Will you be stopping by his shop in Shoreditch?

Yep, got an appointment for Monday 28th. Only 50 mins on the train from where we live. I'm looking forward to seeing his workshop.

@Alex managed to blow a hold in the elbow of his UHF.  Got a needle and cotton from hotel reception, nabbed a FW19 UHF sample and voila…..

                        That is some serious desk-diving, @Alex 😃

Also, that UHF is gonna be great.

I’ve seen a YouTube video of a tailor taking up a dress shirt sleeve, which I suppose is effectively the same thing. You remove the cuff and the placket (is that the term for it on the sleeve?), trim the material and shift it all up. It looked difficult but not impossible.
I’m going to find a tailor before I buy the shirt I reckon

If I had 2 pairs that needed repairing, do I need to add 2 of "Iron Heart Repair" to the cart? And would this affect the cost on the shipping label to you guys (from the U.S.)? Also considering maybe sending in a shirt to have the buttons pimped while I'm at it…

My first diy repair because of schredded pockets on my Naked and famous Chrismuggah. Replacing bottom of pocket with my grandma’s old Bernina turns out quite nice 😊

You probably won’t get anything from the picture, but had my tailor take in the thighs of my 888-XHSib. If it wasn’t over 30 degrees here it take a fit picture. They turned out great though.

I had my tailor do the same on my 555-XHSib,as the thigh measurement was only .4 of an inch smaller than the 888s. Also came out great. Said he had to use the machine he sews leather on.
