Andersen-Andersen knitwear
-
This thing is the Iron Heart of sweaters. So dense, soft, and solid
-
I love my Andersen Andersen turtleneck! You are totally right @mclaincausey with the IH reference
-
Did not expect to wear it for months, but I wore my 3/4 zip sweater during chilly, wet nights in Telluride last weekend and it was an incredibly warm, hardy garment. Absolutely the king of my sweater collection.

Wanting to get the half zip sweater and wear it with that real nice baggy knit look and feel. I wear a large with IH stuff and it’s fitted. Can anyone suggest if I should go for a L or XL? Thanks!
-
@BeeFree hmm I’d have to know more to suggest a size, but for ref I’m 6’2”, 200lbs and wear a L in both of my AA sweaters — one half zip, one full. On me, the L fits very well, not too trim and not too loose. I wear an XL in most IH tops, sometimes an L.
-
I’m 6’ and 165 lbs. Wear size large in IH Western shirts and they’re snug. Hoping to have a loose and baggy fit for the half zip so was thinking XL (all my sweaters and tshirts from Japan are XL) but afraid it might be TOO big based on what people are saying.
-
I would not go over your IH size, go down one for a fitted look, and maybe match it if you want it loose.
-
I'm around your height & weight, have a new navy crew neck in M. It's snug but I expect it to relax a bit. Could have gone L, but XL would be huge - body length in particular would be excessive I think.
-
@BeeFree I wear XL and XXL in IH products and my Andersen turtleneck is size L. It is definetely snug around chest and shoulders but for my height (184cm) it's on the edge of being too long. I can just fold the opening and the sleeves a bit and it's fine. Also because its so bulky its flattering even if I gain a little weight during christmas so don't worry too much about a "smaller" size
-
Usually L IH and M A-A is perfect for me
-
Thanks for the info guys! Ordered a large this morning. Very excited! …even though it’s the middle of summer.
-
Got my sweater today. Absolutely wonderful quality. Problem is I am tall and skinny with no muscle and sweater just seems too boxy for me. It’s a shame because love how beautiful it is.
-
Going to try and size down to try and help with the boxy-ness. These sweaters are too nice not to have one.
-
As others have mentioned, these sweaters really are top notch.
If anyone is interested, there is a decent sale on at Pegg & Sons https://www.peggsandson.com/collections/brands-andersen-andersen?filter.v.availability=1

Thank you both so much! I'll gladly look into both options. In the meantime I've found the Andersen & Andersen navy crew neck. It seems to be very well made, and the price reflects that.
-
@RobeOfTheMagi I love me a wool sweater and have always had an eye on A&A. Looks good.
-
-
@RobeOfTheMagi nope, that looks fine as it is.
Is that an Andersen piece? -
Thanks @tody! I looks quite smart. I am usually between sizes. It's a bit snug around the neck, but the thick wool comes right out of the box so it might relax a bit.
For reference this is the Andersen-Andersen crew neck in size M. I'm about 180cm and 80kg. They usually advertise that size for models who are 187cm at 70-something kg for that size ...
