Leather jackets

@Inorganic I love the way those age - how long have you had it? It looks a bit darker than the colour they are when new.
@Giles that's fair comment. Putting "thread" in the title was a bit unnecessary!

Alexander Leather steerhide. Heavy tank with my woolen tartan (weathered Buchanan) interior. About 15 yrs old now and I can only wear with a t-shirt... But that's okay

Simmons Bilt tail gunner in prairie horsehide. Only a year old. Bought in the shop in Moffat. A supple, lovely leather produced in Germany, I understand. Black cotton lining. This jacket doesn't look out of place anywhere in my opinion. Love it.

-
@Makarwise Alexander Leathers became Simmons Bilt didn't they?
-
@NickD yes sort of... but that's a whole big hornet's nest of debate tbh... There was a lot went on there back 15 years or more ago with Aero and Alexanders. Simmons Bilt are really their own entity rather than a morphed Alexanders. Fedora lounge has a detailed account of all that happened if interested.
Debs from Simmons Bilt is just the best customer service person you could want for

One of my Rainbiw Country jackets - this one is Hercules in seal brown colour

-
@mecken88 the Y'2 looks like it's aging nicely.
Plenty of choice in double rider style jackets, my advice is to see if you can try a few on to see what maker suits your body style.
-
@Cskarev all of your Rainbow Country jackets fit like they were made for you.
-
@NickD that’s why I am big fan of the brand, my friend! The fit is just so good!
-
Mine are more like Shackets
Y2 Horse and Steer
Black and Olive Buck

-
@NickD thanks man! Yeah I know would be a dream! But living in the northern part of Sweden not having any stores selling those types of jackets it’s unfortunately impossible. I think the closest is either Danmark or Germany.
Hard trip making as a parent of young kids still. So I depend on style, look, measurements and price range🥰
And buying secondhand from eBay is both scary and expensive ordering internationally. -
My only leather jacket, was my late Uncle's. I don't wear it often because it's a little big on me and the wife isn't the biggest fan of me in a leather jacket.

-
@mecken88 This might be the best looking leather jacket I've ever seen. Perfect break in. Never really got into leather jackets much until last year, picked up a field jacket natural from MSC and even though I love it I'm looking for something more like this Y'2 beauty. Time to break out of an almost exclusively cotton wardrobe by this fall!
-
I agree with @indigo_fades.
@mecken88 that jacket is sick! All of these are!
Uh oh ….
