How to avoid fades? :-)
-
I went down the IH worm hole and I love the product.
I also simplified my wardrobe to where I'm basically wearing IH jeans and a white t-shirt in ALL occasions.
If I need to dress it up, I wear a sports coat, or a button up shirt / tie / sports coat. Worst case I would wear a full suit, but it's been a few years of IH jeans and a white t-shirt base.

I may just need to have a pair of IH that I only wear when "dressing up" so they stay dark and less "worn in". However, I'm curious if anyone has any thoughts around this.
I do like the OD jeans (indigo OD black) but they do look pretty black and by the time that start looking more blue I may have the same issue. The Indigo OD jeans (indigo OD indigo) look pretty good but not as good as the standard indigo jeans.
Dumb question but curious of thoughts....

You should look into into these if you like "black" https://ironheart.co.uk/search?q=non-fade

Also, when I asked about my 17oz natural indigo 888, was told they are more resistant to fading. Could be a good material choice.

If you wear a pair of jeans consistently its impossible to avoid fading regardless the method used to dye the fabric. Yes some fabrics fade faster than other but all fade. The best thing to do is keep a pair for those special occasions that you want and dont wear it often and then have a couple of pairs as your daily drivers. Don't know what else to suggest.

I’ve got the Superblack non fade 21oz 888 and love them. They are stiff af at first. I use them for mainly dress up outings.

I also did the 666 21oz SB for this reason, them are my going out pants

@northsouthdenimguy Great minds

The over dyed fabrics are also rather fade resistant. It’s subtle when it happens and takes a while

@TwoHearted313
This is a great call out, I just posted in the “things we should make” thread just a couple of days ago how I wish there was a version of the XHSIB that was non-fade…I will get a pair of the non-fade black jeans once my SBG start to fade, but the XHSIB is literally the most beautiful denim in the entire world. To see it start fading would be such a disappointment.
