Your IH Denim Rotation
-
This seemed like the right spot for this …
Fun question - When you put a new pair on ice for later do leave them as is with tags on, or do you soak/rinse/wash and wear them a couple times to make sure you love em and then put them away?I know there were lots of UHR purchases last week that will be iced, for example, and I’m curious how you all go about it!
Bonus: what are you currently holding for later?
-
@dwils

Never been one to keep stuff on ice due to me not having the will power haha. But I do have these tucked away for now and plan to leave them as is cuz if I soak/wash them I won’t be able to put them back up -
@warriors22 LOL I get it. I plan to leave the tags on my 888 UHRs until fall but it won’t be easy!
-
If I have a pair that I'm keeping tucked away for later, I usually try and leave them somewhere that is visible on the daily. Like tucked into the closet and folded with out of season jackets or sweaters. Somewhere where it's out of the way, but still seen weekly. Otherwise, I'll completely forget that I own it and it'll never get used.
-
Although, with that said, after a few months I usually give in and just decide to work it into the rotation anyways.
-
@chrisjohnnick agree - you gotta be able to look at em and dream and try to resist …
-
@dwils I was so tempted to get another pair of UHR due to mines not fitting so well anymore.
-
@dwils I have five on ice at the moment. All of which I have worn once or twice just to give them test runs. Although I will keep my new UHR tagged and on display until it's time.
I currently have 634Loom Breaker, 63421oz LHT, Pronto Slubby, 634SBG and 633SII.
Plus 634 21oz White and 6634 Corduroy.
-
My modest rotation:
Left: 634S 21oz
Middle: Mystery 634 in 21 oz I got from @neph93
Right: 888S in 21oz
-
I just recalled that the black one is a IH-634S-21BLK.
-
@dwils UHR purchaser here.
Since this will be my Y6 Indigo Invitational competition pair, I'll try them on real quick and then put them away, tags on. It's a struggle waiting almost a year to wear them in and stuff, but I can handle it.
-
@Oaktavia man that’s quite a line up to have waiting for you. I was hoping you’d respond

Super interesting stuff! -
@iamjustdanny that’s a long time but they’ll be perfect for the comp!
-
Do....people have back ups of the same pair? Or is that kinda crazy given how long some of the jeans normally last due to rotation? Like i got the recent 888UHR but was wondering whether i should get the same pair again just in case? Or do i just have a undiagnosed mental illness?

-
@cyclops. I do have back ups but only from cuts or denim that may not comeback and that is like alot. For example I have 3 pairs of 463 cut and 2 pairs of the pronto 25oz double indigo.
-
@dwils I had a similar wait time with my current competition pair. I figure it won't be as bad.
-
I won’t bring up other brands names, but I used to have a bad habit of buying multiples of the same cut because I was worried they’d stop making it. At one point I had six new pairs sitting and three in rotation one just the one model.
I haven’t done that with Iron Heart. Part of it is that I like to rotate more now, so it’s hard for me to put that kind of concentrated wear on a single pair. But also, when I do commit like I did with my 25oz over the last few winters they’re so bulletproof it almost feels like you can’t wear them out.
I finally sent them in for repairs a couple of weeks ago, but that was after about three years of hard use.
But… I think I’m gonna get a back up when it drops again of the 666s 21 oz indigo. But that’s because I wear them for work and they’re gonna fade out really quick and I need a fresh pair.
lol -
I have a few pairs of 777, 21oz, XHS, 14oz black, slubby and duck, I was changing each week between them and got the black to start fading but the last 6 or so months have only worn XHS and they're starting to fade really fast now.
Problem is, now with my first pair of 888 xhsib I'm contemplating my life choices, I don't want to like them TOOOO much and neglect my 777s, but I do like the higher rise alot
