Used to live on the west coast for a few years and did a small 4x6 oil painting on panel for some very close friends of ours. This is the coast line of Avila Beach CA. Some great memories at this spot and a must if ever driving on the 101 and find yourself between LA and San Fran.

@Mizmazzle lovely! Yeah I know Furthur but have been unable to use them due to a combination of wait times and full collection up front. Their Insta is a lot of fun to follow.

We use Frame d’Art down in Englewood who have been quite excellent for us. I like how they radiused the corners of the matte on this one, which was never discussed and so was a really nice surprise:

Moving forward we’re gonna do our own framing. Kind of fun to do.

One more bokeh but this one being more traditional with the focal point being the foreground (kind of a boring comp I know but my mom wanted a simple seashell)

@flannel-slut I don't find this composition boring at all. Honestly, i don't think I've ever seen the use of Bokeh in a painting before. Or maybe I have, but I can't recall ever noticing its impact quite so much as in this seashell piece. Quite striking!

@Mizmazzle they’re good, just a bunch of old hippies who love music too but aren’t as specialized in it as Furthur, and probably not quite as wild with the creativity and boldness.

@Mizmazzle thanks buddy 🥰 and xoxo to your forum bias but there are soooo many legends who specialize in this whom I pale in comparison. I’m shit for referencing names but will def share some inspirations as I come across them.

Here is an in progress painting I am working on for house decor. I had the idea from the IH rug that we've seen on here. Found some circle canvases online and figured I'd give it a go.

I need to layer some white paint next all over to clean up where the blue isn't supposed to be. From there, another layer of blue and a second layer of white to finish it all up.

Some spring cleaning had me come across an OLD sketchbook. Made me a little sad thinking back on simpler times and how my world evolved around art. Anywho, I used do an hour or so character sketch daily kind of like a journal and wanted to share a few w y’all.
