WHAT ARE YOU DOING TODAY - WAYDT (PICS)
-
Paula and I are taking a few days off to see some of Yorkshire and Northumberland. We are staying here for a few days. The food capital bit is an accident, whilst we both like good food, I would not describe us as foodies, so I am hoping for good simple fare....Edit, actually I just thought about that, I'll enjoy average food if the ambience and service is good but hate "good" food, if the service is bad/snotty/indifferent. Or dare I say it, if I am expected to leave a 20% tip to help pay the waiting staff what the owners should actually be paying them....
Must be twinned with Gosport....
Definitely twinned with Gosport.....

@Giles Love the bench. The world needs more of these! Enjoy your time there.
 -
@Giles Area looks great. Did you have any of the Yorkshire pudding?
 -
Hiking around for work in a beautiful area.

 -
@Giles Not far from Whitby and the local East coast bays - some nice Fish & Chip options over that way!
Just remember, if you go for a walk on the moors - stick to the paths!!

 -
Went to McMillans of Malton for a drink last night. It is actually a booze shop that has the shop bit locked up at night, you walk through that and up the stairs and boom, there is a little bar....
Forgot to take a pic of the actual serving bar, but the last couple of phots are in it......

What a German driver has to do before the weekend

 -
Start of day 2:
Another piece of heavy equipment (Articulated loader) and the heavy trucks to start bringing 2-3 ton stones in short order.

To answer why we’re doing this: In 2017 and 2019, Lake Ontario reached record high water levels with a lot of damage to shoreline properties. These pictures are from our neighbors yards:

@goosehd do you not have issues with frozen ground doing the excavation etc. now? I recall a little snow on your last pictures...
 -

14 degrees today

The Scarborough branch of Armani.....(yeah, not Giorgio)....
Robin Hood's Bay. Some serious anti-erosion measures. Take note @goosehd , yours are elementary level........
Whitby Abbey. Henry VIII did for it during the Dissolution of the Monasteries. Then poor thing, the German Navy took pot-shots at it in WW I.
