To tell you the truth, I only managed a single beer in 1.5 hours the other day. So completely exhausted that I couldn’t get into it and fell asleep by 8:00 pm.

Tonight on the other hand, with new boots, and new fishing toys, my second Christmas is here and I may indulge a little.

Few days in Morocco! With the IHSH-373

After 7 years of headaches and tears, we finally started having our shoreline repaired. Getting a permit to do so was extremely difficult, but not doing so meant that we could eventually lose our home to erosion.

While we are happy to see this point, the bill makes me shudder.

Paula and I are taking a few days off to see some of Yorkshire and Northumberland. We are staying here for a few days. The food capital bit is an accident, whilst we both like good food, I would not describe us as foodies, so I am hoping for good simple fare....Edit, actually I just thought about that, I'll enjoy average food if the ambience and service is good but hate "good" food, if the service is bad/snotty/indifferent. Or dare I say it, if I am expected to leave a 20% tip to help pay the waiting staff what the owners should actually be paying them....

Went to McMillans of Malton for a drink last night. It is actually a booze shop that has the shop bit locked up at night, you walk through that and up the stairs and boom, there is a little bar....

To answer why we’re doing this: In 2017 and 2019, Lake Ontario reached record high water levels with a lot of damage to shoreline properties. These pictures are from our neighbors yards:

@goosehd do you not have issues with frozen ground doing the excavation etc. now? I recall a little snow on your last pictures...

Thankfully it's all sand and they were able to get through the permafrost(technically I should use frost layer as we don't have a permafrost level in our area) fairly easily. A clay and this couldn't happen.
