One of the largest forts in Europe, it was simply staggering.....

This is the fort from about 5 miles away.....Yes, it extends the whole width of the photo.....

Nice little sentry box

Even the guard dogs had nice stone built kennels

Cycling fans will know the Kemmelberg from the classic known as Gent-Wevelgem... It's also a beautiful hike with a stunning view over Heuvelland...

I was focusing more on my inner SYPHON FILTER // METAL GEAR when we encountered this military domain...

@Madame-Buttonfly and I love Menorca. I have been waiting to visit the fort for ages, but because we have been coming out of season, it has not been open before. There's also an English fort, Fort Marlborough that we have yet to visit....
