@Giles I will cherish this article. Thanks for making them last long enough for the next gen lol

Quick question, but I always paid attention to how the belt loops of IH jeans are sewn into the waistband. Was there a reason you guys decided not to with this pair and also what was the purpose for the off centered belt loop in the back?

@mclaincausey the nagoya store had a great stock when I visited last year. Even got a watermelon man uhf well after they sold out online and the last xhs tote bag for my wife.
It was a quick ish trip there but it's still kinda out of the way for where you might be staying in nagoya. It definitely had more stock than when I visited the Osaka store on a trip the year before.
Have fun in JP!

We did not start sewing the belt loops into the waistband until the DC4002.
The off centred central belt loop paid homage to early jeans when the sewing machines could not get through so many layers as there are on the centre back seam….

@Gilesp Since we're in the questions thread... Are you currently locked out your other account?

@Giles Very cool! I can't explain how neat it is to ask the makers themselves. Thanks for answering all my questions!

@mclaincausey I thought it was worth having a look. it is definitely out of the way and about a 10-15min walk from the closest train station. was there 2 years ago during the F1. Haraki's custom built Yamaha was there then, not sure if he's sold it yet..

How do you guys manage the shipping side of things? I imagine there are a large number of countries that you ship to? Are they all different in terms of any fees/ tariffs that the end receiver might cop? Are there certain countries that you might take a bit of a hit on in terms of bottom line?
I am asking just because of the US, getting stuff shipped from there to Australia just seems absurdly expensive.
If someone more intelligent than me can explain why and where all that money goes..
If I am out of line in any of my questions I am happy to be told as much -
I joke, but with some semblance of truth, that we are a shipping company that just so happens to ship clothing. We realised very early on in our genesis that to be good at shipping was key to our success. And we worked hard at being good at it; negotiating good rates, trying just about every global carrier that exists etc etc. we still constantly review what we do.
Bottom line, we get good rates.
And yes, we take a hit on delivery to some countries, bt we make it up on others.

I can certainly attest to your being good at shipping when I receive an item in 4-5 days from you guys and it can take over a week to get something from a few hundred km’s away through our only local option.
