IHSH-409-IB - 19oz Selvedge Denim CPO Shirt - Indigo/Black

@northsouthdenimguy Hard agree, if you want something that's perfectly aligned and machine made, go buy from H&M... I appreciate the craftsmanship of IH and know nothing can be perfect, that's what makes it unique and gives it character.
I got this shirt a few days ago and haven't even looked at the chest, I've just been wearing it and enjoying it.

@Pointman haha, i went back into my office and said the same thing. Shit, we should have at least taken a pic of the both of us wearing them after swapping. Park Ave Iron Heart Shirt exchange.
I used to keep an office at Park and 53rd. We could have done a three way swap if I was still there.

And I’m not trying to minimize anybody’s thoughts or concerns about wanting things to be perfectly symmetrical. I just don’t think any of us, or our bodies, are perfectly symmetrical either. My feeling is that once these things are actually being worn, you’re a lot less likely to notice those small differences than when the shirt is laid perfectly flat and photographed. Right or wrong, it just doesn’t bother me.
-
@northsouthdenimguy Yeah well said, like I said I didn't even look at mine... when you're actually wearing something/it's on body you don't notice it at all.
I don't mean to shit on anybody's OCD either haha, if something bothered me I'd just return it, from reading a few posts here it sounds like people are wanting compensation with their wording...

80 degrees and rocked mine all day

-
I’ll just say I was super hyped for this but a 20mm miss alignment especially in such a prominent position on the body isn’t something I’m overly happy about.
I won’t send it back, I also won’t lose any sleep over it but I doubt I’ll be wearing it in public either.I get the whole hand made thing but I am a skilled tradesman who works with my hands and in my field of work an error of +2mm wouldn’t fly.
I suppose we all have different expectationsJust hope that this isn’t the new normal
-
@Rustygate37 Why wouldn’t you just send it back if you’re not going to wear it in public? New PJs???
-
@dirtyframer that’s how you do it!
-
Finally mine. Looks good with the 634 duck!

-
@WithBongInHand I’ve done it once before and found it to be a pain in the arse.
Lining up in the post office for an hour filling out paper work isn’t exactly my idea of fun, plus I’ll incur another cost.
I’ll just sit on it, maybe I’ll gift it to a non trade/craftsman that isn’t bothered by such misalignments and is grateful for what is essentially a fantastic shirt, maybe it will become my new firewood chopping shirt instead of my 427 CPO that really is in my opinion is way too nice to be being treated as such.
I might even remove the wonky pocket and go with just the one, might see if it a tailor can realign it or it might just sit in the wardrobe for the next 4 years gathering dust.
Or maybe none of those.
Dunno, just disappointed is all.Nice name by the way
-
@Rustygate37 would love to see it on you before you relegate it to the back of your closet!
-
@kojimastreets same! Probably looks great @Rustygate37!
-
@kojimastreets Looks great man! I’m currently on a plane flying home to try mine on.

It’s been a looong week waiting for this moment. I wonder if my pockets are f’d up lol.
-
@Rustygate37 I hear you. I hope you end up doing something with it!
-
@kojimastreets it doesn’t matter what others think it looks like on me.
It’s the comfort I get from how I think and feel when I wear what I wear.
You might think what I wear looks great or shit but my personal perception is where I find my comfort.
Comfort isn’t always just how it physically fits
Even a quick google or even an AI search would class 20mm for a chest pocket placement as too far out.
But I’m definitely anticipating an all in attack for voicing my differing opinion though. -
@Rustygate37 I can see your point, but the previous run had the same thing, and so did the product picture. I would just chalk it up to experience and maybe use the forum more about learning about products so you can gauge what to expect...
-
@Rustygate37 nah you’re gonna get nothing from support here amigo, whatever you decide. You do you and wear whatever makes you comfortable!
️ -
@Jord didn’t know about the issues from a previous run mate,I was late to the party on that one. Saw the product picture on this run but also saw the picture for purple drama or whatever it was called and that didn’t substantiate into what the original picture was either.
I hear the term off to QA and think things like that would be sorted and an initial sample photo is just that, a sample photo.
It’s not the end of the world, I’ll live and I can still be a fan of the brand, I still own and wear many of their pieces and it won’t slow me down. This one just didn’t hit home for me. I’m only elaborating as to keep a response to this who tag me.
Surely many of us who are willing to put this kind of cash down for clothing clearly have higher standards than the average Joe and having some kind of addictive personality at the least.
That comes with quirkisms and other personality traits too. I am who I am unfortunately -
