@jordanscollected agreed, and I think the Paddy/Ilia fight will be undeniable if Paddy wins! Genuine beef there, but I fear for Ilia's sanity if Paddy somehow pulls off the upset...

@T4920 yeahhhh…

The positive in my mind is I got to go to bed a lot earlier than I figured I would.
Overall good night of fights. I can’t believe they threw that “can” at Gable Steveson.
Please McGregor just go away forever. Maybe a boxing match with Jake Paul as a farewell.

It was a great night of fighting, but I do feel for the man, Conor. Just gave it too much gas off the line not realizing he’s too high mileage to hold up. And holy shit did Paddy fucking blast
-
Paddy delivered no doubt. Homie is a force to be reckoned with

I think Paul would accept an MMA fight on MVP after last nights 'performance'.
I struggle to find sympathy for the guy given his past indiscresisons, but from an objective standpoint the whole thing is like a greek tragedy...
Hubris, greed and ego kept him in the game longer than the body he continuously abused could handle, and now the only big payday he can hope for as a 'sportsman' is being served up as a sacrificial lamb for somebody that would have once been considered so many leagues below him.
I have no doubt he'll continue to make millions, but I don't think it will offset the cost that this setback will have had on his soul...

@T4920 that’s deep bro
I wasn’t rooting for him or against him. He was a beast of a fighter in his prime and put on a good show. Mega charisma. My sympathy for him is based on the effort he put into making it there only to take himself out with the first move.
I try not to judge entertainment performers on anything other than their performances. Unless I have personal interactions with someone, it’s not my place to criticize. Conor’s entertainment value has been tops.

@WhiskeySandwich oh don't get me wrong, I share the same 'separate the art from the artist' mentality too...
I wasn't actively following the sport during his come up and prime, but of course he was always on my radar as a sportsman and cult figure.
There was a part of me that hoped he'd pull of a miracle yesterday so could I could experience a fraction of the hype I'm sure you guys felt back in his heyday with the potential of them building towards a fight with Islam, but after what happened, I think fans are just gonna have move on from the idea of what they hoped he could be again.
I hope he manages to find peace, stay sober and gracefully move into whatever chapter comes next in life for him.
