Big Boned Brothers
-
If anyone in the Big Boned Brotherhood are after an Aero then drop me a PM. I've got two that don't fit me that well.
The first jacket is a black Hercules in front quarter horsehide, the style sported by Giles himself. It's tagged a size 50, but has a thick, quilted lining so probably fits closer to a 48. It's about ten years old and has softened to the point where it no longer stands up.
The second is a cordovan Cossack with a double breasted button-up front. It's a feckin' enormous size 52. The lining is cotton drill. It's not as broken in as the Hercules.
I'll stick a proper advert up later, but I'd be looking at around £300 / $500 shipped for each of them.

Could you pm me photos of each

Just signed up for this- I'm on the XL-XXL divide (an XL forum tee fits me fine, for example), 36-38 in jeans, so thanks for setting this up

Crazy to read this is what it took to get larger sizes back in the day. Much appreciated!

TIL I’m considered big boned via this forum

Never new this thread existed. When I discovered IH in 2019 they were already offering 4xl. Sad thing is that even 4xl is a bit tight on me. I have no issue with the bottoms. I am between 36 and 38 in 634 but the tops have been challenging.

I think we’re in a similar boat, although I don’t know your stats. I wear either a 36 or 38 waist, and at this point I’m mostly a 4XL guy, occasionally a 3XL depending on the cut, as long as the chest is 25 inches or bigger.
For the way I wear clothes, a white ribbed tank is about all I have underneath my shirts. I never wear a T-shirt under a shirt. Because of that, layering isn’t really a factor for me anyway. Honestly, the only thing I’ve been able to layer some what comfortably was an SP-L 178 CPO. I can’t put a 4XL under a 4XL, and even a 3XL under a 4XL isn’t going to work for me.
That said, I haven’t found a better fitting heavyweight shirt or CPO for my build and the way I like my clothes to fit. Whether that comes across in photos or not, I’m not sure, but I certainly like the fit, and at the end of the day that’s all that matters.
