It’s here. Very thic. Similar to Tricotine in the weight and fit but very different texture.
Sashiko is wild!
Hand spun brass buttons are nice.
Definitely longer than I’m used to but I don’t dislike that. Going to wear a bunch before washing. Really cool shacket. Definitely a shacket!

@goosehd hmm how should I go about that? Hot soak / dryer? I could definitely stand to shrink this a bit.
Shoulders are perfect but sleeves and length could get shorter for sure.

. Initially I was just going to wear the crap out of it and then wash but it doesn’t look like it’ll shrink that much with this batch anyways. -

@Chibs they shrink a decent amount, mine shrunk a little over an inch ptp which made it perfect

@Chibs this was this new batch, I hot washed, then drier for 10min then let it hang dry.

@Chibs no spin and the length shrunk a tad, maybe 3/4". I was expecting more.
But man I love this shirt!

I hot washed my black sashiko(no spin)machine dried it for about 20 minutes, then hung it until it was mostly dry before finishing it off in the dryer. Sounds like a lot of work, but it shrunk up just right. Sometimes taking the slow route is better than overshooting and wishing you could get some of that shrinkage back.
If that doesn’t get it to where you want it hot wash it no spin and dry it for 40 minutes on high and it’ll shrink up
Edit: actually don’t listen to what I said at least on the temperature I may have just warm washed it. But like I said, I think depending on how much you want to get out of it it may take you a couple different attempts just to get it right

@Chibs i got mine from the new batch and did a room temp soak with a delicate spin dry and it came up about 2 inches in length on the bottom hem and the sleeves and about a half inch in the chest. From there I hung it to fully dry out and it’s perfect in all measurements now.
From what I understand this garment can and should be treated like unsanfordized denim and is really therefore, shrink to fit. Whatever warmth is added to either the soak or the dry will determine your shrinkage. Hopefully that makes sense and isn’t confusing or redundant to the above info
