Little bit of hiking…

Last Thursday at the club, a lady showed up wearing a patch I didn't recognize. She belonged to a club called Curve Unit - a women’s motorcycle club - and was promoting a ride they were putting on Sunday ( today ). She mentioned that it was going to be through West Marin county and was primarily a sport bike ride. But all were welcome. So I decided to check them out. About 45 bikes showed up for the start in San Rafael. Most were pure sport bikes or hyper Motards. The riders were about 50/50 male and female.
They organized the ride into three groups. The first group was for those who favored a very brisk pace, the second group was for those who wanted a brisk pace, but not so suicidal (my word, not their’s) and the final group was for those who just wanted to lollygag down the road. The club provided a leader and a sweeper for each group. Since I'd never ridden with them before, I was planning on starting out in the third group and then moving up later if I had to. But one of the ladies in the club took one look at my Ducati and told me that if I was in the third group, I'd be very, very bored. So I went out with the second group. There were about 15 riders in the second group and the pace was very brisk. I spent most of the ride 4th from the front and I had to work to stay there. It turns out many of the club members road race at the tracks in area and you could tell.
IMO, the coolest bike I saw on the ride was the Honda RC51.

You proposed after you got married?
I’ve proposed quite a few things after we got married but she never goes for it.

In London for a gig tonight so took a visit to the Redwoods in Kew Gardens.

-
Although not native we have loads here in the UK. It was a sign of wealth to have one in the 1800s so as well as parks etc lots of old estates and gardens have them.
Not as big as the giants in California yet but they are getting big.
Lots of Dawn redwoods also which were introduced after their discovery in China in the 1940s. They were thought to be extinct and only found in fossils before then.
