Thanks both for the insight. I’ll start to work more items into washing machine 😅

I’ve got a long sleeve thermal shirt. It has the overlock run-off dangles on the ends of the sleeves. Is it OK to trim them flush with the fabric? I keep dipping them in food and if just rather not ;).

@mmerkle from what I read on here, this is safe to do. I have yet to trim mine, but they are kind of annoying at times indeed.

@mmerkle I trimmed mine, I keep the chain stitch on the bottom of actual shirts though

@mmerkle I trimmed mine off straight away. Several trips in the washing machine later and it’s still all good.

Was not sure where to put this question but for your staple/core restocks.

When a restock hits, does it automatically go back into the queue for the next restock since it takes a while? Or is there usually a period of time say a couple of months before the order is put in for the next restock?

Also, it seems like the average time between restocks for core items is around 1-1.5years give or take some time?

Just trying to decide if I am going to buy the kersey shirt and save it for when I am ready to work on it or just wait till next time it comes around lol. I alsready have a couple of denim CPOs I should be working on once it cools down.

@Ral1121 Iron Heart for quite a few years now has done their best to restock as quickly as possible given the limitations of production. Not enough staff, time on machines, etc. all contribute to the wait that we have been experiencing for the last few years. It’s not a matter of if, but in many times when we will see the products again.

@goosehd yep I fully understand that. I guess I am just trying to get a gauge on timing and how their process might affect it.

For instance, if I pass this time around on a shirt because most likely it will be restocked in the next year to year and a half, I am fine with that. But if it may take say double and we are looking at 2-3 years, I may just go ahead and buy as I do not feel like waiting that long. I also know that not everything goes as planned and some arrive sooner then planned while other take longer then planned.

@Ral1121 to be honest, if you see it, like it, buy it. There is no guarantee that it will come around again…(not in any predictable timeline).

Yes it goes into the queue, but that does mean we initiate a new run. We basically have far too many staple/core products, so we have to cycle production. Some core products have not been restocked for years because the workshops were full doing other stuff or whatever. They will get made again but we don't know when.

Basically every core product is in the queue, otherwise it would not be core. But that is about as definitive as we can get.

We want to rerun, but for whatever reason, Haraki does not want us to place an order, possibly because we will overwhelm the workshop, or we cant produce enough 12oz denim as we would like.
