We've got a winner! I just love it - thank you @Alex! It's nice not to wrestle with the leather of such a heavy jacket (ie, the old pale rider), and the smell is DIVINE! More to come! No adjustments to the sleeves needed, either, since they'll ride up a bit with some wear. It fits bespoke!

Any recommendations for a waterproofing agent or leave alone?

Horses for courses (pun intended), but I would leave alone. Personally, I def would not use a waterproofing product, I would possibly use some form of natural oil - Mustang paste or the like.....

@Giles thanks, definitely dont want to mess this work of art with a bad product applied.

My personal view is that waterproofing is a fairly aggressive way of altering the nature of the leather. If your question was because you were worried about getting the leather wet, then no need to worry, it'll be fine.

@Giles is truly about getting it wet, im in the Pacific Northwest and it seems to rain 68.666% of the year....

Get some Mustang paste or Obenaufs (or similar) then. Anything you use will darken up the leather though, so just be aware of that....

I've worn my Pale Rider in the rain a few times. It's been soaked through more than once. No big deal. It's not meant to ever be a rain jacket, and we all dig patina, right?
